Hutch is outstanding this season, his natural nose for the game lets him play almost anywhere at the back. I've always liked the thought of playing a 3-5-2. Even last year when Gray was smashing square pegs in round holes we had players suited to it I think?

Mcgeady-Lee-Bannan-Wallace
Pudil------Hutch-----Hunt/Palmer

3-4-1-2 or 5-3-2 FF in the hole. Looks ok on paper, might be shite if we tried it Laugh

We would get done in the air defensively so need one of Lees, Loovens & Turner at least plus we need a big player to defend set pieces as well.

True. it's the kind of line up you'd only play on a simulator like Footie manager Laugh

Nuhiu.

Any formation you want out of that 4321, 353, 433.

Not Nuhiu biggest fan but Joao would be a disaster against B'ham. They are going to come out and scrap with high intensity and close us down quick so we better be on the ball.

Really we are still a CF short.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, you need a team....

Joao has been worked out quickly by opposing managers after his early season sparkle. He doesn't like the rough stuff so they just bully him a bit in the first 10 minutes and he goes into his shell.

He needs to learn to give some of it back quickly or he will be playing for Eibar in La Liga 2 before he knows it Cool
and complicated

Agreed Thurny.

Can't expect too much from a kid that went from playing in an empty farmers field in Portugal to the SBC.

He does need to man up a bit though.

His inconsistency is understandable as he is very inexperienced. I remember Hirsty was like that in his first 18 months at Wednesday but Wilko handled him well by using him sparingly until he eventually came good. Joao is sub for now but will score some important goals this season.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Clearly that is rubbish. It was right to start him at Shrewsbury but he blew his chance and while Nuhiu is limited, we do better when he starts although ironically we do better still after he has gone off.
