The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16
Yes you are correct with Wiggins, the fee was undisclosed but has been speculated by multiple sources at around 200k which is why I used that number. As you say while this is a loss on the fee we supposedly paid for him we do not have to pay him to be unhappy, if he can't settle then getting rid is the best thing.

How do we now compare with our playoff rivals, here is a run down of who did what in January:

Birmingham
Transfers In
Ryan Shotton Loan from Derby
Diego Fabbrini £1.5m from Watford
William Buckley Loan from Sunderland
James Vaughan Loan Huddersfield

Transfers Out
Wesley Thomas Loan to Bradford
Andrew Shinnie Loan to Rotherham
Shane Lowry Free Perth Glory
Demarai Gray Undisclosed to Leicester

Brighton
Transfers In
Jiri Skalak - Undisclosed from FK MLADA BOLESLAV
Henrik Rorvik Bjordal - Undisclosed from Aalesund
Steve Sidwell - Loan from Stoke

Liam Ridgewell - Loan from Portland Timbers

Transfers Out
Rohan Ince - Loan to Fulham
Elvis Manu - Loan to Huddersfield
Charlie Harris - Loan to Barnsley
Adam Chicksen - Loan to Gillingham
Jake Forster-Caskey - Loan to MK Dons

Burnley
Transfers In
James Tarkowski - Undisclosed from Brentford
Paul Robinson - Free Unattached
George Green - Free Unattached

Transfers Out
Thomas Anderson - Loan to Chesterfield
Ntumba Massanka - Loan to York
Jason Gilchrist - Loan to Chester
Daniel Lafferty - Loan to Oldham
Luke Hendrie - Loan to York
Conor Mitchell - Loan to Bradford PA
Cameron Dummigan - Loan to Oldham

Derby
Transfers In
Marcus Olsson - Undisclosed from Blackburn
Luke Thomas - Undisclosed from Cheltenham
Lewis Walker - Undisclosed from Ilkeston
Nick Blackman - Undisclosed from Reading
Abdoul Camara - Undisclosed from Angers

Transfers Out
Kelle Roos - Loan to Wimbledon
Ryan Shotton - Loan to Birmingham

Ipswich

Transfers Out
Jonathan Parr - Undisclosed to Stromsgodset

So Brighton brought in 6 players, Derby 5 and Ipswich only 1!!  Best transfer in this lot to me is Tarkowski to Burnley, although the reported 6m quid seems a lot!!

Birmingham are stronger now. Shotton & Fabbrini make them stronger although they will miss Gray but he was still hit & miss whereas the replacements are more consistent.

Knockaert is a good signing for Brighton as he adds some flair to their attack.

Tarkowski is a good signing for Burnley who have probably as good a starting eleven as anyone in SBC. They need to avoid multiple injuries.

Not sure that Derby have improved much with their signings & Ipswich stay as they are.

Presumably CC doesn't see enough from Bus in training since he hasn't had much of a look in. He may also still be in bad books with the club for tweeting about Sougou signing in the summer before anything formal was announced. With a bit of luck he will get plenty of opportunty in Serie B, score a shitload for Romania in the Euros and come back a better player or one we can get a decent (undisclosed) fee for.

I see Lavery going out on loan somewhere again and us possibly bringing in the guy from Watford based on the nicko tweet posted on Owlstalk.

Important thing is at least 7 points from the next 3 games.
Having watched Burnley play in the Cup game I think I'd settle for a draw - they are fast up front and whip in a lot of crosses for headers so without Lees we may struggle unless Hutch is moved back to CM for this game.

I'm doing my limited best to help with FFP funding by taking my mother in law to the Brentford game and also doing a hospitality deal in the Springett Suite for lunch beforehand. Consequently I want at least a 5-0 drubbing of them with a least 3 new contenders for goal of the season. Maybe new player Matias will be match fit and oblige with at least one Thumb up .

SWFC have invited me & my son to a free hospitality package in the Springett Suite for the Brentford match. This was set up by Mark Bright, who told the Club about my situation. Thanks to everyone involved in setting this up & hope I am fit enough to attend.

Please make yourself known to me.

I have been told that there will be a table with my name on it even though there are just two of us. I will be the old miserable looking git, and getting thinner & thinner each week.

Remind me nearer the time & I will tell you what I will be wearing - dress code & all that!

Lees, Turner & Lavery are all playing for U21s today v Forest.

Lees has scored.

And they won 2-0, wonder if Lees will make the squad for the weekend if he came thru the game unscathed.
Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.
