The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16
What is really apparent from DC is that he seems to genuinely care about what the supporters think and want. Sure he is going to run the club as a business as best he can and make some decisions on his own with no recourse, but he is prepared to listen to other views. Ticket pricing is still an issue but for me its got little to do with price. MM ran plenty of 10 quid offers and kids for free etc yet it really didn't make a ton of difference to the crowd. Our average this season is only just below last season, disappointing and the prices have put some off, but being served the best part of 15 years of dross has taken its toll on our match attending fan base. This will take time to build back up again but the reality for me is that the size of the crowd comes down to one major factor, the quality of the opposition. When we are back in the Prem, the crowds will go up, and to a degree it will be irrespective of the prices charged.

I'll stick my tin hat on for this comment, but I think what we are seeing now is the effect of having an owner that has real money rather than him necessarily being a better chairman than the previous ones.  He can take care of multiple things at once without worrying so much about the finances, previous chairmen, including MM, couldn't do that.  That is not to excuse any of them for the mistakes they made but money does give us different capabilities that really didn't exist back then.

That could be possible, I suppose we'll soon see!

regarding Richards and a few others. I wasn't necessarily saying they were turds because they didn't have money. I just think they were terrible people all around.

I am surprised you saying that crowd numbers are down, condering how you all must be getting excited of reaching the play-offs at least - so it shows, however good a team you are, or anyone else is, if you haven't the spare cash in your pocket, that's it - especially after Christmas and all those extra bills, and extra games.

Hope u don't mind me posting.

Richards spent too much time kissing the arses of the FA to secure his own future  Angry  The club should have supported Di Canio more (lets face it, Alcock would have been done for simulation in this day and age Laugh ) and perhaps the last 15 years would never have happened. If we'd stayed up another season (highly likely with Di Canio and the other players he would help to attract) the parachute system would have then been in operation and who knows what would have happened.
and complicated

I knew Dave Richard's just after he took over at S6 and on the whole I thought he was a decent guy.  For me though he was a good medium sized industrial company chairman, and the fame and power that came with being the head of a football team went to his head, after that everything became about him and his progress at the expense of everything else.

No problem with you posting on here!!

Its more than just ticket prices though, the state of the club over the past 15 years has seen a chunk of fans fall out of love with the club or at least with going to games.  Its going to take time to get them back and it may not happen until we reach the prem.

But in the end after what Di Canio did in front of a tv audience, how could the club have supported him more?  What else could the club have done other than accept the suspension?

Nothing on the official site yet but it looks like we have signed McGeady on loan until the end of the season. What do we think about him as a signing?? He has played at the top level for all of his career and has racked up a lot of assists. Also how will he fit into the side, will he replace Wallace, or allow FF to play in a central role?? Does this mean we are no longer after judge??

Mcgeady is a quality player, should be a welcome boost to our midfield. I had my concerns about todays midfield, but it's over now and we focus on the league. I'd expect Mcgeady gives Wallace some time to get fully fit and push him to get that spot consistently.
He'll get Bannan buzzing in the middle anyway.

Sougou just doesn't seem to be cutting it in the Championship

Bournemouth claim they have agreed a deal to sign Rhoys Wiggins from Wednesday.
