Rumor that Hutch will be the next to sign an extension tomorrow and we are (as we should be) in talks with Hooper.

Not sure about this on/off Davies thing - T*** of an agent, medical (?), more pressure on Bolton ??? I'll guess we'll never find out or could just read tomorrow that he has actually signed (for Derby).

All contracts are at least until 2018 which creates a greater unity in the squad. So although I suspect that Nuhiu's role may become more peripheral, the decision to give him 2.5 years is correct.

I hear that Loovens might agree a 2.5 year contract tomorrow as well as Hutchinson.

With respect, MS, I don't get your reasoning. "All men are born equal; some are more equal than others?" (George Orwell).

I dont think loovens is good enough and hutch is made of plastic so giving them long deals is wrong !!

Think we are being a bit naive if I'm honest. Giving big Dave and loovens extended contracts is ludicrous. With ffp swfc can't be a charity and if we want premier league football I'd have been looking to find better. Let the contracts run out and move them on. You would be hoping next season if we push for the prem they won't be getting game time and just be squad players at best.

Think we also need another good cup run. Knockout football good practise for the playoffs.

Think you are underestimating the value of continuity.

Loovens has been better this season than last season so an extended contract makes sense. In recent weeks, I have been increasingly impressed with his captaincy. He is constantly talking to team mates & giving support & advice. Also, last season he picked up yellow cards like Hutchinson. This season, hardly any.

The contracts for all message creates a greater bond & unity between the players. Not giving contracts to current first team players would be divisive. Each new contract signed encourages others to sign. Hopefully the contracts for Nuhiu & Loovens encourage Hutchinson & Hooper to sign.

Hutchinson signs until 2018.
