Stubbs in for two players in January!

It looks like ICT's manager, big Yogi Hughes, is gonna have the privilege of adopting Stokes for the remainder of the season if Stokes and his agent 'give it the nod'.

Recent reports suggest that Stokesy does not fancy going to ICT or Dundee United. So maybe Hibs do have a reasonable chance of picking him up for the remainder of the season although I suspect he really wants to stay and fight for a 1st team place at Celtic Park. Playing at ER could be a 'breath of fresh air' in a decent Hibs side but, first and foremost, he'd have to behave himself and seriously contribute to Hibs Championship campaign.

I am surprised there hasn't been more interest in Stokes from England. His goalscoring record is very good with both you and Celtic but I haven't seen him mentioned at all. Having only made one appearance this season for Celtic probably means he is a bit of a forgotten man, so securing a loan deal to Hibs, with a chance to maybe score a lot of goals in a lower level may just put him back on the scouts radars!!

I'm surprised there's any interest in him at all, considering he has a serious assault trial starting in Dublin on the 20th of this month.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scotti...es-5683584

The nature of the assault was noted as 'too serious' to be dealt with at a local court, and the case was referred to the High Court in Dublin for trial. If he's found guilty, he'll undoubtedly get the clink.

Why is nobody aware of this?

This impending trial was reported by Scottish news channels quite a while ago and I'm sure most folk are aware of this issue. What intrigues me is the fact it covers an alleged assault that happened almost three years ago - a trial system that appears to operate at a 'snail's pace'!
As a side note, just over a year ago Stokes got involved in a slagging match at a chip shop in Edinburgh on a Friday night with a couple of my son's pal's who were winding him up. He chased them round the corner and suddenly met the rest of the lads incl my son - all fairly big lads and a mix of Hearts and Hibs fans! What happened next? They exchanged selfies on their mobile phones, all posing with Stokesy and his mate/bodyguard just sat in Stokes' plush Mercedes and never moved an inch - typical Stokesy after a night out in one of the Embro nightclubs!

Aye, it seems to be taking an age, there's been a few adjournments along the way - the referral to the High Court was one of them.

You say most folk are aware of the issue, yet if that's the case why would Hughes/Stubbs/anyone even entertain the idea of securing his footballing services right now? Are you sure Stubbs is aware of it? Nobody in the media has said a word about it. Why not?

Wouldn't it be better all round to wait until the trial is over before doing anything?

You could maybe forward that fairy story on to his defence team. Thumb up

Selfie photos don't lie and I'd seen my son's two photos and some of his pals' photos too. I don't know if he's still got them TBH - people of little faith comes to mind eh! It's a factual anecdote and if I could acquire/transfer the photos then I'd do just that (fling egg in your face for good measure!) and pin them to the thread Tongue My son's story highlights the 'short fuse' that Stokesy has and on another night he may well have got a good pasting from less friendly individuals!
Re Stokes situation, Hibs/Stubbs have never expressed any interest in Stokesy and that's another fact. Perhaps most interested clubs are indeed awaiting the outcome of his upcoming trial and that's why there is little interest in his position at the moment.
On a separate note, Wolves apparently have an 'interest' in Jason Cummings - reported on SSN. A similar scenario to the Gary O'Connor saga all these years ago?? Hibs doing fairly well with a very good side in 2006 and suddenly Gaz goes to play in Moscow!! Eventually replaced by Benji. I've said previously that Hibs and Stubbs will hold at least until the summer and Cummings and his agent are in no rush to leave anyway. I still believe that will be the case.

Jesus 0762 don't give them the anything to latch onto as long as you know the craic then that's all that's required,no chance of Trus bumping into players he'd need to leave this house first.
