Totally agree with a lot that BaggieSteve says above, particularly the 'Pulis the Man and 'Pulis the Manager ' thing. Spot on.
Also agree that the line up today was abject, and seems to sum it all up.. We HAVE got creativity in the squad, and to overlook ALL of it is just not defendable.
HOWEVER, it's just 2 games ago that we were all saying how well we'd done in a really difficult run of games. All HASN'T changed, TP's brand of football hasn't suddenly become totally non productive - we've got 20 points FFS!
HUGELY disappointed with the team selection, the way we play, and today's result.......but personally I think to even think about getting rid of TP at the moment would be suicidal.

Drewks, I also would not suggest changing the manager, I think you're very lucky if it achieves anything at this stage of the season. I understand the tactics in the four games against Arsenal, WHU, Spurs and Liverpool and I can accept them. What I struggle with is the same approach to Bournemouth at home and an ailing Swansea today. I just don't think he is capable of changing his thinking, which I personally find incredibly depressing. I just think nothing will change between now and May, so relegation or staying up becomes a lottery.

I was there when Peter Ward scored for Brighton and we lost 2-0. I watched Woking put us out of the FA Cup. I stood among 3k die hards at Zenith Data Cup matches. I saw Regis score goal of the season. I saw Robson score a back heel against Liverpool. I watched Cunningham take corners with the outside of his foot. I saw Kempes nullified by Wile. I joined in the throng singing Hoppy's gonna get you at St Andrews. I was there when we signed Steve Hunt who had played with Pele at NY Cosmos. I've seen World Cup winners manage our team. I saw us win at Wembley.
If teams want to play against us they have to earn the right to do so. We must never conceed possession and stop attacking. Please Tony, fall on your sword before you kill our club.

It's just depressing that we go to struggling Swansea and don't field a more attacking line-up. I just don't know what TP is trying to achieve.

Aries, you ask what Pulis is trying to achieve and I cannot give you a sensible answer. However, I do know it is a carbon copy of what happened at Stoke with a hugely divided club and fan base. It's now even happening on this forum with our possibly losing goods lads like Dingle-Dingle and Silver and it's all down to Pulis.
The sooner he goes, the better it will be.

The sooner he goes, the better it will be. Baggieman, to blame Tony Pulis for forum members leaving is - to put it politely - questionable.
It is the REACTION of some posters to Tony Pulis on here that is the problem; it may be TP that is the root cause of it but it's the negative comments etc which are at the heart of the issue here.
I'd also like to add that TP is doing the job he was employed to do- to keep us in the PL.

Drewks,
As always your post is concise and sums up what I am thinking at this point.
This board from what I can see is an accurate representation of Albion fans as a whole. A minority who were over the moon with the appointment of TP (myself included) a minority who were furious at his appointment and the majority who thought we want to stay in the premier league and were willing to support TP and see how it went.
Whilst results are good (I will have a mardy bum rant at anyone who can say results on the whole haven't been good !) the team selection and tactics are very questionable. For TP to say he had been chasing Mcmanamen for years and then to ignore him and pick Gardner in his place is baffling. Likewise the signing of Chester and then not playing him is quite bizarre.
Add to this the playing out of position of players and it's no wonder we all are left scratching our heads !
But, I still feel that TP is the man to keep us in this league and if you asked any fan of clubs below and around us who they would want as manager I wager most would say TP!
That's why I don't get the sack TP before he takes us down argument.
Still, I welcome anyone's view on this far from concise anology.
Newcastle game whilst not a must win is certainly a must not lose.

Yup - don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go with those who aren't in the TP fanclub - everyone is entitled to their views and the great thing about THIS forum is that they are usually put pretty logically and (sound like my Dad here) politely.
I am also very frustrated with some things that TP does, but try to look at the big picture, and REALLY hope that, once enough points are in the bag, we will see a more expansive game, a la Crystal Pulis

I wouldn't say results have been good Squirrel. We are only 3 points above the relegation zone, so I would say results have been acceptable, perhaps even satisfactory if we're feeling generous, but not good.

May,
To be only 3 points above the drop zone is worrying.
What results are not acceptable since TP took over ?
Swansea WAS a poor result but should have been 1-1 if ref given stonewall penalty ?
