Hibs v Queen of the South - 19/12/15
#1
After all the drama in last week's home game, let's hope for a calmer afternoon against QOTS this Saturday, with Hibs getting another win under their belts. We put three goals past them without reply in Dumfries earlier in the season, so another performance like that will do very nicely. Who replaces John McGinn (when is the appeal heard?) is the only doubt and not scoring enough goals to reflect our undoubted control in most of the games will be the only potential drawback. Derek Lyle and Ian Russell are the Queens danger men, but in a very short spell last Saturday, Henri Anier and Martin Boyle showed their intent, to earn a deserved point against the odds. Hopefully last Friday's QOTS MOM, Alex Harris, will not be allowed to play against us.

I'll be up on Saturday (assuming I survive Mad Friday's Christmas Party) to roar on the Hibees and generally moan about the opposition and the officials. Let's have a good day out.

Alan Stubbs hinted at Tuesday's AGM that Dylan McGeouch will definitely be fit for Saturday's match and the players are ready to go - good to hear that the dressing room atmosphere is terrific, one of the best that Stubbs has experienced! Thumb up Dylan will replace John McGinn if he is suspended. Boozy Harris has been one of their best players and will not play in Hibs matches. So Harris's omission is their big loss. I'll be disappointed if we don't win this match fairly comfortably but beware of their set piece tactics.

Ha ha ha!! That decision has kinda restored a wee bit of my faith in a football system that is open to cynical scrutiny now and again. The video replay of the incident itself provides the strong evidence that there was no real malice or deliberation in McGinn's challenge.
