Match Thread - Stoke City v The Owls (LCQF)

Not sure why the commentators think Stoke are the bees knees. We made quite a decent Arsenal side look very ordinary in the last round and may have done the same had we played this one a Hillsborough.

As expected... a tough battle against a tight defense.

Shame about result (if not expected). More concerned about our increasing list of injuries

Not a great performance but a better second half at least. Nothing to be ashamed of losing 2-0 just a shame we didn't really get going. They closed us down more than we have seen from Championship teams and that stopped us from playing.

The worry is not the result, but the injuries we picked up, Lees, Loovens and Hunt all taken off and others in the wars a bit, let's hope we get some other back soon and that these were just precautionary subs.

Injuries by far the biggest concern tonight, not the performance.

Lees and Loovens injured, and others with knocks.

I dunno Charlie, I'm not a football manager, just seemed that he didn't fire the players up for this one, and bringing Nuhiu on at 2.-0 down was pointless, Hooper looks useless on tonights performance, maybe rested Lees for tonight too..I don't know, just pissed off with the way we lost, not the fact we did lose, and the injuries could screw us up for a few games too.
What I do know is Nuhiu should play no part in the rest of our season, Hooper can go back and play some of the younger players, we're not going up ..or down this season , blood some academy players and then push on next year ..

Disappointing result, but like has been said, the league now has priority. If the 3 fellas are out injured we have adequate cover here in Palmer , Sasso and Turner. It's still in attack we need work. Without FF we are a bit headless, Hooper hasn't made the impact I expected and Nuhiu is well, we all know.

I was hoping that this game would provide Hooper with an opportunity to shine, but it wasn't to be and even though the service was limited it didn't stop Joao doing much more than Hooper. I think we will see Nuhiu playing from the start in some games and being a sub in others until we find a better replacement in January. As for tonight he came on not to win the game or even to alter it but to allow Loovens to be taken off who appeared to have a hamstring problem.

when i saw the draw it filled me with all the excitement of a MS match rating Whistle

i thought as much , but convinced myself different Doh

the last thing we wanted to do tonight was go all cavaliar on stoke ( even old goats like peiowl now this ) but we did and we got punished . the team should have read carthorses everywhere .. thats how you beat carthorses like stoke Doh

carlos has a lot to learn still , and i realy think we are in for a big xxxx up in the playoffs , so id rather not qualify for them . for me its automatic (which is well beyond this teams means ) or dont bother , why would i want the heartache Sad
