So Kev's Available .......... Forever

So Preston were negotiating a coaching / playing role for Kevin Davies that didn't happen? Plenty of clubs kicked him in the teeth. He's used to it. But this time he retired. Wonderful career Kev. Thanks for all you did.

Isn't there a role at Chesterfield for him? All that experience? Couldn't he begin to develop the rest of his life with his original club? Wouldn't it be a coup for us and a bonus for Dean Saunders to have him around?

Developing young forwards is where the real money lies for a club like ours that has to sell. At the point Jack Orrell has reached inn his career for instance, what could be better than having Davies and Saunders to learn from? It wouldn't be charity or a salute to the past to try to get Davies involved. It would be an investment in the future. We used to be known for our keepers, wouldn't it be nice to be known now as the club that produces exciting young forwards?

Has he any coaching qualifications Dev ?.Do you propose bringing him in on a voluntary basis to see how good he is ?
As he has no links with Dean why would he want him except for his experience as a high class striker of which there are plenty around ?.I think you're being a tad sentimental, bless .

Kevin Davies is coming back for a sporting dinner on 6th March. New manager?

Apparently there is talkĀ about him getting back into training with a view to returning to football.
