Pretty concise, Madsteve.
Can't disagree with any of that really. I think many of us were surprised to see an unchanged side with Mcgugan on the bench. I thought Hutchinson was going to snap when I saw him starting also!
Completely agree about the rotation policy, we're boasting a bigger, somewhat healthier squad not including the current injuries. CC's insistence on wearing the lead out without re-sharpening has definitely cost us points. I can only hope a lesson has been learned.
Games come thick and fast in English football, if you fail to utilise what you have, it will undoubtedly cost you.
Missed Lopez, Sougou and Matias.
We are dropping too many points against the bottom 3 teams IMO. Charlton, Bolton and Rotherham. lost terribly to Charlton. Dropped 2 more points against Bolton. and Despite being all over Rotherham, we ended up with a score line that flattered them in a 2-1 win.
4pts out of a possible 9pts taken from the current worst 3 teams in the league. 6pts would be an acceptable minimum. IMO

I have to say that Sasso didn't put a foot wrong yesterday & did pretty well when he played earlier in the season so I have no worries about him having to play.
The players who have suffered are the full backs but mainly the midfield players. Lee has generally kept his standard high but Bannan & Wallace have been less effective recently and Hutchinson wasn't so good yesterday.
We have to learn and maybe CC has to accept that no-one except Westwood & Lees plays more than three of the matches against Huddersfield, Blackburn, Stoke & Derby. It will get us better results overall than playing players until they run to a stand still.

It's crucial that the players get some rest and recharge the batteries now, but equally we need to see Lopez, Matias and Sougou spend these next two weeks to get back to fitness. All three of them have quality that for me puts them ahead of our current second choices for their positions and all three would probably have seen game time in the past couple of weeks.

Ignoring the typo in the first sentence

FF sums it up here.

Not sure I buy into this 'the players were tired' bollix. It's only the start of November a third of the way through the season. If that's the case we are screwed come March, April when I was hoping we would
be putting in the final push for promotion or form team going into the play-offs.
Also players can get tired during a game and I say during....not from minute one. The tempo was set low from the start.... Why ?? Who knows. I think the players began to believe all the nonsense during the week about tiredness possibly being a factor.....it got into there heads. Hull weren't tired....id love to know how many players Bruce rotated.
Like above what if we have 3 games during a week in April whereby we are 2 points outside of play-offs. For sure the players would not be tired that week. And if they were I'd be Fooking raging.
The game is done so hopefully CC has learnt from it all.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, you need a team....

I do believe they were tired and i think they had right to be as the space between the Qpr game and Rotherham game was xxxx ridiculas !! god knows how we played aswell as we did against Arsenal ? but carlos did have enough players at his disposal and he didnt twist againt Charlton when after watching the Forest game it was plain to see that twisting was his only option !!! He fcuked up yesterday and almost fcuked up by playing the carthorse against forest he was lucky !! but i do like this manager and the way we play football has been a pleasure to watch against Arsenal and Rotherham that is !! and if you look around at the managers about we are very very very very lucky cos fme there is some right shit out there now !!

Despite maybe making a mistake in not rotating the squad yesterday, I have to say CC is shaping up to be a very good manager and it's definitely nice to have a manager who is a student of the game, smiles a lot and seems to really love the club!! His interviews are always realistic and upbeat, never blames players and always tries to keep everyone grounded no matter how well we are doing. Hopefully even if we do not make it this season he will still be around to continue the building we have started.

There are different types of tiredness. There is the tiredness of lung power that happens during a game. what we are suffering from are:
1) the tiredness from playing matches twice per week, for several weeks
2) the mental tiredness from the build up through to the euphoria of a big cup tie
The combination has hit our players, most particularly our midfield engine room where they play a high intensity game. Boro have shown similar problems after their win at Man Utd while Hull haven't had so many problems as they have rotated more plus they didn't have a high profile cup tie. Hull made nine changes for the Leicester cup tie and another nine changes for their league match at MK. We made just two changes for the Arsenal match, both enforced.
