SPFL2, (Championship) Saturday, 07/11/2015 : Rangers v Alloa Athletic, KO 15:00 hours.

Top v bottom in this match.
The chance for Rangers to return to winning ways, hoping our opponents, who have not won a league match this Season, have no 'sting ' in their tail !

I expect we'll be faced with a parked bus, defenders throwing themselves in front of everything and the plucky Alloa lads raising their game to levels they never do against anyone else.

C'Est la vie. . .

I also expect us to be much, much more clinical in front of goal, and we'll need to take a few more chances in the attacking third. Trying to walk the ball into the net is costing us, the U20s the other night scored 4 goals from outside the box. Maybe we need to send Halliday and Zelalem over to watch them and get some hints.

Walking the ball into the net ... I posted at the start of the Season that we tend to go a bit like Arsenal in that respect.
Nothing wrong with that as part  of the repertoire, but you are right Trus, we need to shoot on sight too, when the opportunity arises.

Goals from outside the box are also something we have to guard against, having conceded a few 'worldies' this Season !

"Just phukking shoot" that's my mantra. You make your own luck and the ball pinging about like a pinball helps.

Maybe the crowd could adopt a shoot on sight chant.

Sure but with football fans being the fickle beasts that they are, the minute a player does this and misses a couple by a wide margin they will turn on him when he gets the ball and this will stop him trying again!!!  If Warburton has any sense, he will instruct a couple of players only to shoot on sight and tell the others to chase the shot in!!

Even if Alloa park the whole bus depot in front of their goal, this is a game you have to win, a game that you should win and a game that I think you will win!!!!  Get a couple fo players shooting from a distance and get Tavernier and others to swing in crosses with pace as I bet their keeper won't relish coming off his goal line too far with the defenders all stood just in front of him!!

If it were possible to hand pick a fixture this week this is the one you'd surely pick?. Alloa, while undoubtedly plucky and up for it are rank rotten. I'd expect a return to the 4 or 5 nothings from the beginning of the season and for you to go into the international break with the tails back up

Problem is maroon, they have Danny Wilson in defence, which is a problem for Sevco. Alloa a bogey team from last season?. Think Sevco will win this easily mind you as most of their opponents will be knackered from their day jobs.
