VS
Saturday 31st October KO 15:00 At Highbury
Form
Chesterfield LDLLLWLWWL
Fleetwood DDLLLLLWLW
Chesterfield visit Highbury on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways after losing 3-0 to Scunthorpe last Saturday. Fleetwood go into this game on the back of a 1-0 win against Barnsley. The Spireites have played Fleetwood on 8 different occasions 6 times in the league and twice in the JPT run of 2014 where Chesterfield reached the final before being overcome by Peterborough. The last time Chesterfield played the Cod Army was back in February where the Spireites won 3-0 at the Proact with goals coming from Caolan Lavery, Sam Hird and Sam Morsy. In the 8 occasions the Spireites have played the Cod Army the Spireites have won four, drawn two and lost two. Chesterfield have scored 13 goals against Fleetwood and have only conceded 7 in all the time they've played them.
Former Spireite Jimmy Ryan joined Fleetwood in the summer after having two successful seasons at the Proact where he made 100 appearances and scoring 8 goals. During his time at Chesterfield he won the League 2 title in 2013-14 and was a runner up in the JPT 2014. Unfortunately he won't be facing his former club as he has picked up 5 Yellow cards and will be suspended for this match. Centre Back Richard Wood who has joined the Spireites on a 3 month loan from Rotherham had a short spell on loan at Fleetwood this season making 7 appearances.
Betting Odds
Fleetwood 13/8
Draw 13/5
Chesterfield 19/10

Everyone's very quiet on Richard Wood, centre back from the worst team in the Championship, who can't buy a game there, even is behind a young loanee; and Fleetwood, apparently even worse than us, have no further use for him .... and he's our defensive cover for three months.
Apparently he did a good job at Crawley last season for Deano; look where they ended up.
My whelm has never been so far under.

Also we signed a Right Back called Liam Graham who played in a few reserve games as a trialist but he's not ready for the first team just yet apparently he's been signed for the reserves and probably one for the future. He was born in Melbourne but he plays for New Zealand but is also eligible to represent Australia. He started his youth career off at Vicenza Calcio then went to Ascoli for 1 season and made 1 appearance then moved to Monza for a season and he didn't get a first team appearance then went on loan to Aurora Pro Patria 1919 where made 5 appearances and then he has joined us.

Fleetwood wanted to keep him but chose to move due to his home being in Yorkshire
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

A bit harsh on Wood Dev.He's got experience at Championship level and Elvis Pressley says he was forming a good partnership with their other centre back so must have rated him.
As usual I'll judge him when I see him.

So another away win and by all accounts a solid if unspectacular performance.I dont think people are too worried about an away performance if it results in 3 points but we really must find a way of getting results at home .
Anyway he's on 38.8 % after 18 games which now looks decent.

Yep need to start winning games at home and we should do that against Oldham in two weeks time.

I love your percentages Pooch, keep it up. It's like Form 3C's History exam' results being posted.
Re Wood - we could've signed a development player as we have three other centre backs, a bit young and a bit more nippy, so he could cover full back if necessary too ........ I don't think too many of Wood's Championship experiences were positive. And if Rotherham thought he had even bench potential he wouldn't have bin exiled to the fishing village would he?
Liam Graham? Now that sounds more like the future to me.

10th in the league and 1 point behind the League 1 bookies favorites Sheff Utd. Deano must be doing something right even if we cant play at home.
Evatt has a broken arm so Woods was probably brought in as cover. Agree about Liam Graham Dev. Only question is - will they get the experience they need to push on?
