Apologies, fricking Ipad chucked a mental on me midweek and wont fire up. As a result i forgot all about this match thread and its going to be short and sweet.
After a 2 week absence Championship football is back and Town travel to the last stop just before the BACK OF BEYOND. Chris Powell will be looking for a much improved performance from the lack luster one we threw out at Wolverhampton when we got tonkerd 3-0.
Jed Steer will continue in the sticks whilst James Vaughan returns to the fold despite all the rumours surrounding why he hasnt played, lets hope if we get a penalty Vaughny doesnt step up as his previous 2 at Portman Road didnt go in.
Prediction
Town 2 v 1 Town (head rules)
Town 2 v 2 Town (heart rules)

After the way we played for the last 70 minutes at Wolves, things can only get better. Who knows? Vaughan might actually score rather than knocking lumps off the woodwork for once. Neither side in exactly a rich vein of form so a good opportunity for some points.

Sounds like their lad got him sent off and that's a disgrace, but they know he has a temper on him and a short fuse. They play on it and that's another part of his game he has to work on.
Only listened to the last ten minutes. Didn't sound like it'd been a good game but I'd been expecting a defeat so a point away from home is a bonus.
And we've snook above the Dirties on goal difference.

Disappointed on the balance of play we didnt get something more than 1 point, some awful decision making by Caliper Miller and Bunny - we broke freely 4-5 times first half shot weekly or over hit the cross.
Felt for some weeks Scanz is some way off his best and think the same today, Huddy was solid in defense, the aussie started wobbly but got going, I like Crainey at RB very steady, committed, Deano was allover Huws not so influential.
Ipswich were awful first 45 and we really missed a trick. 2nd half McGoldrick came on and they ticked, threw Murphy on and you just knew they couldnt be as bad. Thankfully Steer made a couple of excelllent saves at the death, Bet Lynch prodded over from within the 6 yard box and 0-0 everyone went home frustrated.
JV, well the announced 395 town fans had provided superb backing from before the kick off and were calling for Jimmy Vaughans introduction well before 70 mins, rapturous applause when they wheeled him on. I cant comment on the sending off not seen it, the ball went out next thing he was off, but he's a coiled spring, Ipswich knew it and he's done himself no favours at all. They werent really talking about his dismissal on Radio Suffuk Mick Mills was almost suicidal about the performance and I had to turn over once Dynamic Mick had done his 5.30 interview and rolled out all the excuses. He described as as 'no mugs' and Miller had 'premiership experience' - I wish !
Parked by the station, straight out didnt quite merit a 2 minute stay behind applause, yep pleased to have got something from one of the more testing away days, by car, coach or rail for the average fan.

Just seen the red card incident and quite frankly I am appalled. The most unjust sending off since Tom Cowan "head butted" Etienne Verveer.
If that's violent conduct, then slap my botty with a wet haddock!
Town must appeal this disgraceful decision.

Just seen it myself after listening to Chris Powell's assessment. Sticking the ball lightly in someone's mush is apparently up there with a full on push in the face, an elbow in the head and a set of studs going straight through someone's shin. Well they all merit a red too. Have to wait and see if it's a one game or three game ban..
Still the bright points are we kept a clean sheet, how did that happen?, and Snoots has already mentioned the League position.

I saw it happen, it was stupid but yellow card at the very worst. If that is a legitimate red card in the eyes of the 'law' then football as a contact sport is dead, I'm sorry but it is. Seeing a hard nut like big mick jump out of his seat to protest it as well is shameful. He wouldn't bat an eyelid if someone elbowed him in the face let alone a football being chucked at his head. The very fact we're even debating this is ludicrous. This is why I've enjoyed watching the rugby world cup. No nonsense from refereees, stamp out any play acting and uphold the laws of the game. As for this game, agree with Sloppy, we should have been 3-0 up at HT, decision-making and our final ball were beyond woeful. Showing up why we are where we are. On the balance of the whole game, if both teams had taken their chances it would have been 6-5. Always felt those chances would come back to haunt us and if it wasn't for Steer pulling off a world class save from McGoldrick at the death we would have all been bringing out the same old same old lines. Back 4 bar Lynch who again showed his propensity for giving away stupid fouls in dangerous places, twice at the same place trying to shepherd out the ball, failing and then giving away a free-kick or playing for a foul. Hudson solid, Crainie or Whitehead my MOTM. Very close. Crainie was brilliant, time and time again, making tackles, playing simple balls, marked their winger out of the game. Whitehead was everywhere and did twice the work of Huws who was a waste of space in midfield. Will have off days but looked remarkably off the pace, needs some fitness work and should have been taken off. Someone needs to tell Nakhi to hit the gym and beef up because he's become so lightweight its a joke. Did a bit better in holding the ball up but him and Miller cant trap a bag of cement and fell over on a pitifully regular basis. Every time Nakhi went in for a tackle he looked like he injured himself. Thought Davidson got a lot of unfair stick on here. He had a couple bad games but was very solid yesterday and I think will continue to be good. Good point and would have taken it before the start but should have won on balance of chances created. Scanz actually had their fullback on toast but his final ball is still woeful and I think he knows that, more coaching with him and I think he'll get better. He needs an arm round the shoulder and support. Our fans were so quick to get on his back yesterday, don't think other players would have got that stick. We need to get behind some of them a bit more.

Is that right, ELT? Scannell is the new scapegoat?
I think it'll be Vaughan again now.
