As it was it was another fairly subdued atmosphere. Hibs must have hoped that all the backing from the Board for Stubbs allowing him to sign a host of players, with fans getting excited by the future and surely a great challenge for Rangers only for all the usual frailties to still show and so hasn't materialised into increased gates and revenue to pay for all these signings. As you say who would pay £20 + for that?

A subdued atmosphere at ER Stadium? That issue has been debated by lotsa Hibs fans for years and certain failures at Hibs FC have greatly contributed to that situation!! Rejuvenated thrills n spills at ER, THE REAL DEAL, would naturally redress this problem and attract many of the missing Hibs fans, some of them extremely passionate, back to the stadium and the atmosphere within the ground would be far better than what I've observed in recent times. That is not gonna happen any time soon because there are still too many Hibs fans who are disenfranchised from Hibs and their hot n cold performances - they are not impressed by the results or performances. As for high ticket prices, well that's a major issue for already sceptical Hibs fans!! Lets refer to the phrase VALUE FOR MONEY and I must say even the Dons' LC tie at ER wasn't worth the £20 ticket price and it didn't even resemble a hard fought cup tie during most of the 90 mins of this match!

I actually thought the 16hr a day working,ex city trader pep warbiola made some decent comments about league reconstruction but the expanded league set up he is talking about is a bit of a pipe dream.

If the Austrian Footie League model/proposal is endorsed for 2016/17 season Fredster, then we'd all (apart from Celtic) better become accustomed to the threat of play-off matches and Doncaster will be in his element! Cool

I'll beg to differ re that insinuation Fredster! I strongly believe the Swiss-Austrian League model will be adopted by the SFA/SPFL for season 2016-17 and the main reason for this proposal's endorsement is all relative to the fans' views set out in the SFA questionnaires - nothing to do with Rangers fortunes whatsoever. Besides, Rangers FC will be demoted from Premiership involvement and will be placed bottom of the Championship by default - watch this space, they are not out of the woods financially as many of their protagonists like to suggest! It became apparent in the questionnaires over a year ago that there was not enough interest or entertainment being generated in the Scottish football leagues and that view has been acknowledged by the footie authorities with definite and significant action being promised after a consultation study of practises in other football leagues of a similar size and demography. I DON'T BELIEVE THE SFA CARRIED OUT SUCH AN EXTENSIVE FANS' CONSULTATION EXERCISE ONLY TO DO NOTHING!! TO THE DETRACTORS WHO BELIEVE IT'S A BAIL OUT FOR HIBS, IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN ETC ETC, I'D JUST COMMENT THAT THE FANS' CONSULTATION EXISTS AND THE RESULTS WERE COMPILED A LONG TIME AGO. ALSO HIBS WOULD NOT BE THE ONLY BENEFICIARIES - SO BOO TO THAT NARROW COMMENT!! Even the resurrection of that insidious OF fixture being regularly played would never be enough in the eyes of most Scottish football fans - we'd still be entrenched in old ways and old practises! Indeed, I'd go further in demanding that a possible OF fixture be hunted down with strict and draconian enforcement forced through by the Scottish government!!! IMO our game is changing for the better and for decent Scottish footie fans. I don't apply the same view to any future OF fixtures!!!! Thumb down
This fixture is one of the vilest matches in world football and it's high time the issues surrounding this horrible confrontation were finally tackled with a toughness and level of intolerance that will force the main antagonists into submission or removal FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME!!

What's wrong supercooper? Something you disagree with again or wanting to express some kinda warped self-pity? Hence the usual meaningless, stupid one-line comment! Oh of course your a duped, deluded Hun/Rangers fan - that clearly explains such delinquency! No need to even apologise!

Applause - I must have struck a chord with the poor diddum reeling off another stupid and meaningless one line reply in thread #49!! How predictable!! Now join the debate supercooper or f###k off back to that shitty little forum board that you regularly glue yourself to and you'll be in good and smug company!! D'you get my drift!!! By the way, is it not about time you found a regular job and did something productive for a change?
