Apparently had a falling out with Slade because he wanted to play more. IMO would have been better staying off at Chesterfield because he could have helped us got promotion last season. Wouldn't surprise me if Cook tries to get him on loan at Portsmouth because there struggling for goals.

I seem to recall that when Eoin Doyle first signed for us from Hibs, he said that his main motivation was that `Paul Cook gets the best out of me`. That being the case, plus the fact that PC obviously rates him as well, I suspect he`s more likely to go to Pompey than us. It depends whether a) he`s prepared to go back down to League 2 again and b) whether he has any say in where he goes. I`m not sure how it works in the case of a loan.

Yeah I agree I think he will go to Portsmouth on loan.

Id be surprised if he went to Pompey ,the deal has to suit Cardiff too and like Salter says its a big drop for him.He's in his prime and playing in League Two wouldn't be ideal.

Interesting that Kenwyne Jones was supposed to be arguing with Slade. He played yesterday. Doyle didn't make the bench.

If Cardiff loan him out and he doesn't deliver that team goals his value reverts to what we paid for him - nothing. After all he's only ever done it once.

The reason not to go to Portsmouth is that he may become known as a player who can only do it for one manager.

Another reason not to go is that it is well known that Cookie likes to play one up front so would he be on the bench there too ?

He played one up front when he was at Chesterfield. Paul Cook knows how Doyle plays and Doyle knows how Paul Cook operates so would work well.

Id guess they probably have 4 or 5 vying for one spot there already. I just think he would be better off in League One at this stage of his career and there should be plenty of teams would want him if the price was right.

Could he score 21+ goals again or is it one off like DA said?
