Listened to WW on my iPad so if I move over here the commentary cuts out. Thumb down
Also the youngest daughter ( birthday yesterday) gets married in 2 weeks so just after the first goal we had to take a field trip to the venue to show it to the elder one who is visiting for the weekend.
Theyre all out craft shopping now so at least I can watch the Chelsea game in peace.

I'll watch the full game tomorrow on WW but certainly off to a good start and avoided a potential banana skin game.

How did you listen to it on the Ipad, I have tried that in the past but the lack of Flash on the ipad stops it from working, has that changed now with the new WW format?

Great performance all round.

McGugan, Hunt, Wallace, Hutchinson and Matias all outstanding.

In fact, they were all outstanding.

Played some lovely football, Nuhiu linked the play superbly.

Carlos has introduced some clever stuff, full report later

They said on WW that it was difficult to pick a man of the match and from what I have seen or read so far that seems to be the consensus from most - this was a team performance by all accounts!!

I am excited about the Hunt-Wallace partnership, two experienced Championship players who will combine well down the RHS. This in turn will create more space for McGugan and Matias as well, so I expect to see them get more goals than our midfielders did last season.

I have just got back.It was wank,oh sorry force of habit.First half wasn't too good, thought I'd gone back in time to last season, but SG must have had a word with them at half time because it was much better.More like what we had been expecting.Barry was excellent, clearing off the line then 30 seconds later popping up at the other end to score.
I didn't win the Beemer,bastards.
Beer was £5 for two pints and a pie was a quid on the concourse.Screens all over as well and the big one in the ground fantastic with the goal replays and seeing the action at the far end.
All in all an enjoyable day with a good result for once.
Just got to keep it up.

So a new season starts, new boss, new players, new hope.

We set up 4231, City 352. City did have more of the possession, but mainly at the back & midfield and weren't causing any real threat. First chance for the Owls fell to Matias who miskicked after decent work by Barry and Nuhiu. Matias had a 2nd chance from a very narrow angle and put it an inch wide. Wilbraham had a chance for City but Westwood saved comfortably. Then the best chance of the half fell to Lopez after a lucky deflection the ball fell to him but blasted over the bar from 14 yards. HT 0-0

2nd half Wednesday seemed more on the front foot, Lopez had a free kick comfortably saved and then came the first goal of the season on 60 mins. Wallace's corner was headed in by Lees although Fielding did get a hand to it. 10 mins later City had their best chance, a Burns header was cleared off the line by Barry, the ball was picked up by Helan who ran with it deep into the City half before finding Wallace on the left, whose deep cross eluded everybody except Barry who had run nearly 90 yards to sidefoot into a empty net. The last 20 mins consisted of both teams making subs, ours seemingly through cramp, Matias nearly made it 3 from a counter attack, City had some pressure late on but never looked like scoring.

Westwood 6 - Not much to do, 1 save and caught some crosses.
Hunt 8 - Good defending and equally as good going forward
Loovens 6 - Fairly solid
Lees 7 - Solid also and scored
Helan 7 - Long run helped get the 2nd goal, did fairly well defending

Hutch 7 - Did a solid job, still goes charging in to challenges, needs to control his aggression
Lopez 7 - Likes to keep things simple & tidy

Matias 6 - Did OK, could have scored a couple today
Barry 7 - Good finish for goal today, neat & tidy
Wallace 7 - 2 Assists today, might be the leading Assister this season as he can actually cross the ball.

Nuhiu 7 - Poor in the air, good on the ground, worked hard.

Palmer, Lee & Joao not on long enough to really impact the game.

A good start to the season, 2 goals and a clean sheet. It was a decent performance nothing more, still could do with a Striker and we may do something this season. Bristol had more possession but had no cutting edge. Proper test next week.

Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.
