It's becoming increasingly obvious that Hibs are trying to flog the player before he leaves on a free, but they're so terrified of Rangers now they won't let him come here. They've been releasing details of the Rangers bids to try to encourage other clubs to get involved, but no one's bitten yet so they're changing their tune from 'he's not going anywhere' to 'we'll bite off the hand of anyone but Rangers if you put a bid in'.

Player only signs for a club IF he wants to go.
Nobody's season will be made or broken with the signing of Scott Allan.
For what it's worth I don't think we'll make another bid, and it's very possible Allan will be happy to sit out the season and sign for us on a free. He'll potentially settle for missing out on a season in the Championship and join us to play in the Premiership. Hibs lose their best player for the season, get no money for him and are possibly consigned to another season in the Championship. Seeing the alternative - bringing in some cash to sign a decent player who wants to be there, strengthening their chances in the league or at least in a playoff - is apparently beyond them.

I do believe hibs season could now be broken sold or not as they now likely have an unhappy player on there hands only time will tell on how that pans out

We might make a bid in the week running up to 23/8.

If anything happens it will be near the Windows end.

This has the air of 'Man United will not sell to Liverpool' and/or 'Liverpool will not sell to Man United' about it.
Business is business, so from Rangers' viewpoint there is no rush as we can sign Scott Allan for nothing when his contract with Hibernian expires. From another SSN report on Scott Allan : He has one year remaining on his current deal and will be free to talk to other clubs about a Bosman move next summer from January 1. Skysports - Hibernian insist Scott Allan will not be sold to Rangers

Hi all.. I have managed to get back on track. Life's been difficult but am still around.
Totally agree re Allan, leave it till next year and pick him up for free, or in january. The squad seems to be doing well and an inspired choice of manager should do the business for the Gers. Results, although important is not the main thing, it is the rebuilding of the club from the bottom up and am glad to see it is in its initial phase. Hope all are well....regards

Good to hear from you struth, hope things are working out, bud.
There's a very special positivity around the club just now. We deserve to feed off that while it's evident. That positivity can only spread more positivity as time goes on. ![]() |
