Kyle Bartley out of contract at Swansea also, quite a few Rangers young players who went South also free to find new clubs
This article from the official Rangers website suggests there might be some light at the end of the tunnel, with references to both a new style of play that's being coached and actual scouting going on. It's even been carried out by, among others, some actual, genuine scouts! Seems to be more focussed on the youth side of things but that's where we need to be looking in the coming years. Sounds like the changes we all wanted to see in 2012 are finally being implemented.
Maybe
I am intrigued by this 'new style of play'.

What is its source ?

Is it from Stuart McCall and/or Ian Durrant, with a long-term view to it being adopted by the first team, or is it an independent initiative from the Academy staff ?

Notwithstanding the possibility of a change of Manager, with possibly a consequent change of style of play, whatever style of play is adopted needs to be consistent throughout all levels at the Football Club.

Above all, it needs to be effective in getting results, entertaining (we do not want 'boring boring Rangers', do we ?!) and enacted by players comfortable with the style. The latter should be the case if, as I said, the style is consistent throughout all levels.

As I understand it Craig Mulholland was made Head of the Academy to bring about a programme of change right through the age groups. Since McCall was only appointed on a short term basis I wouldn't think he's been allowed to make a long term decision like that for the club. It's more likely in line with modern development models that have a blueprint to shape the style and direction of the youth players, irrespective of who the incumbent first team manager is. Ideally the board then appoints a manager/first team coach who should be capable of bringing those players into the first team and making the most of what they've learned.
You mean what Murray park was built for
Reckon they need a business model approach throughout where Rangers decide how they are going to play football, develop youth system like clubs such as Ajax, Lyon have done so succesfully then appointing managers who are believers in the same philosophy and believe they have the right way to go about it

No use going from Long Ball manager to Slick passing manager to counter attacking manager, each who changes not only the whole squad but the Youth team get confused going from technical drills to strengthening hamstrings for booting it into the clouds

It took a ten year plan for worthy young talent to start coming through at Aberdeen, it would probably take a lot less at Rangers due to the sheer popularity of the club/Youngsters wanting to play for them and I believe in its sustainability to help Scottish Football clubs not just survive but move forwards.
You mean what Murray park was built for

Is that a statement or a question? First and foremost Auchenhowie is a training facility!
Yes a training facility that was to help produce players,FAIL
Correct Fred, training facility that produced zilch. Hence championship next season and, perhaps a few more.
