There's got to be money because we've sold two players Cooper for £750k and Doyle for £750k (Turner says over a million plus add ons) Now DA said in an interview the other day that if you sell a player for £1 million then £700k goes to pay off the debts and goes to the up keep of the club and £300k goes to the manager for his wage or transfer budget.

You've been linked with Jon Stead now. The man who destroyed Chelsea in the FA Cup.

I always liked the look of Honley from the train and that's where he came from innit Snoots? He's a good player but has he ever played for anybody when they won something? I know he's had an after-he-left play-off medal, but is he maybe a bit of a loser? He made England under-21 but never quite stepped up ....... I'd like him but I've got this feeling he always promises only to disappoint.

Charlie Dawes and Jack Broadhead have been released which we already knew a few months ago.

Dean Saunders said he wants to retain Jimmy Ryan, Drew Talbot and Armand Gnanduillet and will speak to them as soon as possible.

I don't think Ryan will stay at any price, but I like the idea that Saunders has his own opinions on the squad. I'd keep Drew Talbot for his heart alone ....... and Gnanduillet was the player Saunders singled out for praise when we beat Crawley. Gnanduillet and Doyle seemed to work; would Clucas playing in behind him score a hatful?

But we are going to lose players. Morsy is almost bound to leave and though I praise Darikwa (to Dancing's amazement) if I were him I'd want to move up. If he doesn't do it now, it may never happen for him (and if he did move, keeping Talbot would be sweet).

I reckon Roberts might leave for a club closer to Liverpool. Morsy is being chased by Cardiff and Doyle has probably been asked by Slade who else is a good player at Chesterfield? I think Saunders might get the best out of Armand but like you say Dev can't see Ryan staying I reckon he will be off to Sheffield Yoo or follow Cook down to Portsmouth.

John Stead is a very good player but I think Bradford will want to sign him. I would like to see Talbot and Darikwa both stay because Darikwa can also play in midfield as well as right back and the same goes for Drew as well. I think if Saunders can keep most of the team together and add a few new faces I reckon we could get promotion.

Also there is the rumour of Craig Davies coming back after he was released from Bolton.

Two bids from two different clubs for Sam Clucas have been turned down. One of the clubs rumoured is meant to be Wigan. Other club is rumoured to be Sheffield Wednesday.

Jon Stead would do it for me. Davies wont come to us, his sights will be set higher plus I don't think he will ever set the world alight like he did when last with us. It was noticeable that when Morgan wasn't in the team Davies struggled to get into the game. Whilst his goals took us up a division, he had some shockers and spell of about 10 or 12 games when he didn't score and looked average at best. Am not one for bringing back old players. He's moved on so should we.
The next couple of weeks should prove interesting.

Wouldn't completely surprise me if we were in for Clucas, he is still young and has a good record, but I still think our priority is a proven Championship level striker. Of course we will have many irons in various fires I would hope, so he may not be plan A but a decent Plan E or so!!

Its a bit irrelevant what we get for Clucas unless the majority goes back into the playing budget and not into DA s pocket or to Mansfield.
If it was all going to be put back into the budget I'd accept 800k with substantial add ons .

Mansfield have got a sell on clause when they sold him to us, I think its 10% or something. Would not surprise me if Turner would except £750k.

Shane Nicholson fitness coach, Kevin Lynch first team coach and Eric Nixon the goalkeeping coach have all left the club now.

Sadly Pooch you never see transfer money ring-fenced so that it goes back into club development. I'd want a lot for Clucas. I think he represents the future as far as footballers are concerned. Left back to striker he's versatile across the park. We'd lose a massive amount of flexibility were he to go and that ought to be worth a lot to a small club that needs flexibility. As things stand our most flexible players are all endangered species. Clucas is wanted, Talbot we released, Darikwa is also attracting interest. Humphreys, aged 52, is currently looking forward to a busy season.

As to Craig Davies? If he needs Morgan, Saunders went out of his way to take him to Crawley ...... And if we're looking at released players ...... wouldn't Jacques Maghoma do us a good job? Wednesday thought he was good enough for them more than thirty times last season, he's a clever player and if Roberts were likely to leave ........ Couldn't you see a place for him.

By the way what's happened to our reserve team? Is that a reality or did it disappear into the mist under cover of Portsmouth. And if it were real shouldn't we be looking at one or two of the talented young discards looking to get back off the scrapheap?

Well Dev, Talbot isn't released he's just out of contract and Saunders wants to speak to Armand, Talbot and Jimmy Ryan about signing new deals. Talbot is attracting interest from Barnsley and Oxford. If Roberts left I would take that player Jed Wallace who has been released by Portsmouth but Huddersfield and Fulham are after him so its very unlikely we will sign him. Another player I like the look of is Jay Emmauel Thomas who was released by Bristol City he's a very good striker but again he's attracting interest from Forest and Birmingham.

I wouldn't sign Morgan again because we would be going backwards and not forwards, he's not done anything since he left us last since playing for Wycombe, Woking and Crawley he was just a mard arse when he was at Chesterfield and when he came on as a sub and got the ball he would do all the fancy shit and loose it.

We need a young striker someone like Garner, only problem is when we get a good player they get sold.

The Craig Davies rumour comes out everytime he doesn't have a club I think we need to look forward not backwards.
