Howdy all!

With all of the general doom and gloom at the minute I though it might be nice to start a thread so we can reminisce about our favourite memories of recent years.

Mine would be this:

I'm sure we all remember the game...

Easily the best away day I've been on. Good times!

You can't better that one, mate, - not that I went, but it must have been fabulous. Some of the key promotion games were magic as well, but of the games I went to the Great Escape Day took some beating - it couldn't have been any better, especially as we went to the match with a 4/1 chance, had some great craic with the Pompey fans, then we had the 10 minute drama at the end waiting for the Charlton/Palace result, which came via a thousand radios. I've never hugged so many people as on the pitch at the end. Great great day! Still brings tears to my eyes, but slightly bettered by the Palace 2-0 game 2002, which is not within your 10 years.

The obvious ones are out of the way, so here's a lesser gem; March 2008, FA Cup quarter final against Bristol Rovers. Only the second time we'd played them since Twerton Park in 1991, so still a sore fixture amongst a lot of older fans. Mowbray tactics at their purest (including the defending; Rovers deserved more than the one goal they scored), Big Ish at his most promising, some classic Kevin Phillips efforts, and most of all, the feeling that we really could go all the way and win the cup. Sadly, the semi-final completely reversed my estimation of Portsmouth from 2005, and I've been glad to see them tumble ever since. This should have been our year.

Sorry which photo was that game from? Obviously im assuming an Albion vs Wolves game, but it wasn't the 1-5 game (Doesn't look like the stand then)

I havent been to many "great moment" though (Missed the Great Escape - Shared a season ticket with my brother and he went) and havent had a home season ticket for a couple of years now so missed the 5-5 at the hawthorns with united..

Went to the Wo1ve5 game though, I think a chap on here lent me his season ticket so I had priority, and dropped them round to me - William475 or something? He was on holiday, and I will be indebted to him for that! He hasn't been on the forum for ages though.

It was when we took over the southbank at the custard bowl for the FA Cup 4th Round back in 2007, and pretty much everyone took a carrier bag to stick on the seats to wind the dingles up. The photo you can see was taken after the stewards had taken the majority off of the seats  Big Grin

Kamara had an absolute blinder of a game and we really should of had 5-6.

Excellent choice Ska'd. Totally agree with the sentiments on Portsmouth as well.

What I would give for a cup run this season!

Not really a single moment but two seasons ago when we had our best season in the PL era, those first 8 months or so before the shite run that we have never recovered from. I just loved how it didn't matter who we were playing, or whether you were going to the match or not, we just expected to win every game - playing some of the best football I have ever seen us play. Apart from Lukaku this seasons squad is stronger than that one, which gives me slight hope that once AI goes we can recover.

The 1-5 was special though.

It'd be interesting to go through all of the last ten seasons and pick favourite moments:

2004/05 - final day vs Portsmouth
2005/06 - not much to shout about, but probably the 4-0 win over Everton
2006/07 - either the FA Cup win against Wolves or beating them in the playoffs
2007/08 - either the FA Cup quarter-final or Brunt's goal to win promotion
2008/09 - pretty miserable season, and I think the standing ovation after relegation was probably the most significant moment
2009/10 - there weren't really many "classic" matches; we always seemed to either win at a canter or come a cropper. Beating Middlesbrough 5-0 away was a landmark hammering, though
2010/11 - Carlos Vela equaliser vs Wolves, or beating Villa
2011/12 - Molineux Massacre
2012/13 - either Liverpool at home or the 5-5 against United
2013/14 - Winning at Old Trafford; everything else pretty grim
