Yabba, to be fair to Imre, did you think we would beat the Swiss? Because I didn't to be honest, however so glad we did., it was a decent result.

Trying to guess what England will do is one thing BUT Imre is a very long term supporter of his beloved club 'The Owls' and can speak with more authority on it than we can, So I think what he has said mirrors what we have seen so far at the Albion with Irvine in charge. He needs to change things around as soon as possible otherwise time will run out on us and the gap will grow. Its then so very very hard to claw it back.

Surely the question here should be how the xxxx did Switzerland reach 9th in the rankings???

The thing about Irvine for us was his defensive attitude all the time. We could be playing well, go 1-0 up and he would change things to preserve the lead, even if there was still a ton of time left. This invited the opposition on to us and the whole dynamic of the game would change!! I can almost guarantee that when he was finally fired there was not one dissenting voice in our fan base, but there isn't much hatred as he is such a nice guy, he was just out of his depth as a manager in League One!!!

Now this is on the correct thread - Doh me

It's a pity Irvine doesn't read these posts, because if he did, and paid heed to them, he ought to share his wages for us posters to enjoy, because between us we are awesome. Thumb up Thumb up Big Grin

It is a strange decision given the season is only 3 games in. Replacing him with the under 23 coach is even stranger especially that reports were rife that they wanted Thomas Tuchel if they did ever remove Slomka.

If we sacked Irvine then I wouldn't mind Slomka as his replacement. He would definitely sort out our defensive problems.

Unfortunately the media and the clueless minority of WBA fans on social media would probably focus all their attention on his Hamburg sacking as a reason to not give him a chance rather than look at the great job he did with Hannover. Doh

Thing is, if we are going to sack AFI then we need to do it today. This will give us time to get some one appointed by the end of January.... Whistle
