You could once have started with who you definitely didn't want to play.

Clucas is a must. He's been outstanding all season. If we are going for a result Evo has to get the nod over Raglan. It will be the team that started against Walsall with Harrison on the bench. Myself I would drop Banks as he hasn't done much the last few games and pick Ariyibi but whatever team the boss picks will do for me.

I'd have Clucas up front. Ariyibi Banks Roberts behind. Morsy and Ryan as usual. Usual back four ... because I wanted Evatt for this one all along (but I'd be ready to change against Crewe because three quick games is almost asking to injure him).

I'd be looking to use Harrison and O'Shea off the bench, bit like Dancing I'll back whatever the manager picks and changes from Tuesday wouldn't surprise me. It's a match we could certainly lose and I'm saying that because when that happens it's very easy to look at the selections and say, if only he'd picked Dieseruwe or something. He could pick a good team, have a great plan and we could still lose. It happens.

Nevertheless Mr Cook's selections now are interesting.

Unofrtunately at 2-0 down he seems to have been wrong judging by the two half-time subs ...... but I kept saying this was a tough game, specially a couple of days after Bradford. Football's not like doing sums - sometimes even the best-looking answer turns out wrong. At this moment I want Gnanduillet on, but I'm only looking at a computer.

How managers' minds work is always fascinating and slightly mysterious to me. Good ones often do things I would never have done - and they turn out to be right.

But Matt, you went for Harrison up front, Clucas or O'Shea and Raglan. How can you say that?

It turned out Harrison and Hump were wrong calls for this game, on this day. Mr Cook changed, got O'Shea on who has great ability but is quite in and out ....... and was rewarded.

Did he get his defence right? I dunno they let two in even when we were apparently dominating possession, but would Raglan in have improved things, or Jones, or Hump?

In the end the manager has to get it right in the 90+ minutes he's got ..... and the players have to make it work. And brilliantly they did. I'd definitely have lumped Gnanduillet on the second we went 2-0 down, but would Hird have then been in the same position to score that goal. Would O'Shea have added his brace? Gnanduillet might have got a hat-trick.

It's great that our manager is able to think on his feet and change a game a round, that he can say that idea's not working and come up with another one. Managers in industry and sport often stick with decisions simply because they are their decisions when they need the flexibility to change. He done great.

You have to laugh ,Cookie cant win really can he ,The subs make a difference and the focus is on the fact that he picked the wrong starting line up not that he made the right changes.
The saying horses for courses springs to mind and I am beginning to think Jay O'Shea is the man for the big occasion and I think he will be the key man for this run in whether that's coming off the bench or starting.
It is difficult to pick the right starting team because every game is different and thats why subs are important, like you say Cookie has to be given credit for changing it so quickly.

Can we really do this? Win against Crewe and god only knows. Cook has certainly got the golden touch.
