And now the picture gets muddy

I admired Mr Cook's words after the Walsall game that sometimes you just have to win. Now we face the most intriguing challenge of the season. If we were to enter the promotion race proper we'd have to win. If we were to lose, Bradford would be clear of us with a game in a hand and we would a rank outsider in a race involving a lot of clubs.

I find it intriguing because the game asks questions of Mr Cook's style. Tuesday night on a mudheap, how do you win? I'd be more than tempted to bring in Gnanduillet, get Dieseruwe and Harrison involved during the game too ....... and cut down on the football, but I kind of see Mr Cook sticking to his guns and playing his game and trying to win his way.

What would you do? Whatever route he chooses no one can blame the manager, he's done great, but it's a pretty impossible call. It'll be physical, I'd bench O'Shea, pick Raglan and back us for having greater reserves of fight and energy than Bradford after all they've been through.

At least 54 points will keep us up!

The only problem I see is Morsy. When we played them at home at least 5 Bradford players went down clutching their necks in an orchestrated attempt to get Morsy sent off and it worked a treat for them. The ref fell for it hook line and sinker. Would bet a lot of money on them trying it again because without Morsy we are not good. Other fans think its Roberts that makes us tick but for me Morsy's the main man. Lose him and we will lose the game.
A draw will do nicely for me but I honestly wouldn't pick Raglan. It has to be Evo for this one. Hird and Raglan are next seasons CB pairing for me but Raglan needs to learn to attack the ball from set plays and not sit back. We need Evo for his presence at set plays or else I can see us losing heavily. Just hope he has one of his better games.

I reckon we will have to play Bradford at there own game and revert to hoofing the ball from the back and hoping Armand can knock it down for Harrison or whoever to shoot at goal, I know its ugly and not the right way to play football but every now and then you have to win ugly. MK Dons lost to Bradford at the Valley Parade because they tried to play football but couldn't because the pitch is an absolute mess. Bradford are a very physical team and will be a tough game because they need to win this game like us to keep in the mix of the playoffs.

As it stands Bradford, Fleetwood, Peterborough, Barnsley, Rochdale, Doncaster and us are still in the mix. Could Sheffield United slip up and fall out of the playoffs altogether? I think there's going to be a lot more twists and turns in the race for 5th and 6th.

We will struggle on Tuesday no doubt .They were a horrible team at ours and the pitch wont help either .
I reckoned 7 points from the 4 games including yesterday would keep us in with a shout so we can afford to lose one now, maybe lose Tuesday then a draw and win in the next two against Yeovil and Crewe.
That would leave us on 58 points from 41 games
I reckon someone could get in the play offs with 68 so would still be a tall order but is this season going to mirror last season ? when we had an excellent points tally from the first 8 and the last 8 games.

I'd go win ugly Matt, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Mr Cook win it us in a whole different way.

A lot of things change the run-in. Like yeovil seem to have given up - but does that make it easier or harder. If Crewe won again before we played them they'd be nearly safe. Might they momentarily relax? We might have Bristol who no longer care. Sheff U could be up, Colchester could be in a panic ..... or none of those things.

Great result tonight guys!!! Back in the playoff places, albeit with Rochdale still having a game in hand, but that win puts pressure on all the other teams. I am hoping you can keep it going, the teams around you all have a bunch of games against each other and the Blunts are definitely wobbling so there is a playoff space to be had by any team that can string a few wins together.

There's nothing an Owl loves so much as a wobbly Blade.

It was a great result for us.

By the way Dancing I didn't want Raglan in order to replace Evatt. I just thought youth, enthusiasm, and eagerness to prove himself would be great assets on a mudheap. I thought we'd probably need Evatt at his best at Yeovil, because I think we'll find they are a very tricky proposition. (That said if the miracle happened and we went up a division I do think an Evatt/Hird centre back pairing would be a quick way to come back down.)

But what do I know? I thought Mr Cook could find us a way to win, but I never even gave the Hump a thought. Beating Yeovil and Crewe would steal us a march (and an april) on all our rivals. It'll be more than interesting to see how he approaches it. Any guesses for the starting line-up at Yeovil? I pretty sure Lee will be in goal.

For Yeovil Game I reckon.

Lee

Darikwa Raglan Hird Talbot

Morsy Ryan

Roberts  Banks  O'Shea or Clucas

Harrison

At least we are safe now and can't get relegated.

At first I thought, boring line-up Matt, then I realised Clucas was only making it as an (Or) ..... and Hump gets the boot after making the goal. And Raglan makes the team even after we keep another clean sheet. It's a hard one innit?

One reason I thought of saving Evatt to play the Yeovil game was they might play Keifer Moore at centre forward and he's 9ft 7ins tall (approx), and I thought Evatt might find a way round that, or under it.

I'll work out my line-up after I hear about the lingering knocks.

I've always said the warm-ups now are ridiculous. Nando injured in the warm-up. No-one used to get injured in the kick-in. Matches last two hours now, not 90 minutes, no wonder there are so many goals in injury time when everybody's buggered.

It's difficult to choose who to play because I think we've got a lot of depth in the squad.
