All Change at the John Smiths Stadium
#1
Ok so this morning saw the grand reveal of our season ticket prices for next season but here is the big news...Town fans can buy a season card in the South stand for the first time ever. Yes that's right £350 will get you a season ticket in the South stand for most of the season, I say most because when we are anticipating a away crowd of 2500+ then the SC holders will have to move to another part of the ground(free FM lower, £1 elsewhere I believe)

Another revelation is that Town have agreed with those that oversee these things that when the away tickets are expected to sell more than 4000 we can give the away club a further 2000 tickets at the South end of the Kilner Bank....meaning more supporters having to move.

So what do you all think to this then?

Great news. I will blindly support any initiative that the Club comes up with. Thumb up

Anyway, why not get as many away fans in as possible? We will never have enough home support to justify such a huge stadium.

Nice that the club sent the renewal forms out in an open package and not in an envelope. Email, mobile number, everything on display.
Well done, Town.

First thought with 6000 away fans, is more aggro /hassle with bigger followings, with just mesh nets separating season ticket holders & families (in the main) towards the centre of the Kilner as the more boisterous town younger lot in blocks 1 & 2 are re-deployed to other parts.

I can appreciate the financial implications and 6000 x £30's is a chunk more than 4000 x to boost the revenue line, but will take more police and stewarding and perhaps require expenditure to create fences under the stands to segregate properly.

It will inconvenience the Kilner season ticket holders at Full time exit strategy - do Town plan to build a 2nd bridge over the canal now as it will be everyone walking around the ground at full time.

Sitting in the lower tier moaning section it wont affect me other than on the bigger occasions it will be busier than usual and create a better atmosphere around and about my normal seat.

The NSL had to move, once again on Saturday you can see them giving it a right go bobbing around but the noise simply does not transmit to the South side of the stadium, just goes up and out. 1000 or so in 50% of fixtures should enhance the support effectively under cover.

It's a start. Not so long back the authorities were inflexible on this issue. Maybe sometime we will be able to reclaim the South Stand for home fans and stick the away lot in the sun blinding North stand.

South stand for Town fans, it's a great idea. If we get 1000 in there making the same effort the have now in the south stand then it will no doubt improve the atmosphere. Unbelievable that it's taken so long to do really given that Oldham Athletic have been doing the same thing in the away end for year. So a big well done to the Town board for making this happen as well as the North stand loyal who have shown that demand and support is there.

Secondly the extra away support, I've seen some fans are upset by this because they have to give seats up but how many times might that happen 1,2 or 3 times at the very most and if home demand is high then that won't be the case(I know that's a very longshot) plenty of room in the Riverside upper and lower for them to relocate to when they do have to move

Got my season ticket for the South Stand already!
Think its a great idea and hopefully we can give the players a lift, don't see why they cant do it for 3 out of the last 5 homes games.
afterall I think 48 points will be ok ( 2 more wins should be enough). Don't know where the points are coming from though!!!

Norwich - Tues night ( wont fill it )
Fulham - Saturday (wont fill it )
Ipswich - Easter Monday (wont fill it )

Derby & Blackburn fair enough

Bloody hell! Are they our last five home games? Won't get much out of those, which makes the defeat to Rotherham all the more unbearable.
Must get something from Birmingham on Saturday.

firstly anyone who buys a season ticket in the south stand or those 2 sections of the Kilner back who complain when they have to move need a bit of a slap they have had plenty of warning
having said that i cant see it happening often
below at the official attendance figure for league home games this season , given its gate not actual attendance i figure anything over 15,000 will cause the south stand to be given over, the small numbers are where i have the actual away attendance figures

Bournemouth 550
Charlton 432
Boro 3514
Wigan 11083
millwall 11712
Blackpool 14238
Brighton 10817
Forrest 15317
Sheff Wed 14389
Brentford 13038
Birmingham 13203
Bolton 15773
Watford 13843
Leeds 20029
Wolves 11843
Cardiff 12798
Reading 10282
Rotherham 13342

by my reckoning thats 5 games max ( boro Forrest Bolton and Leeds for certain and maybe wednesday)
of our following home games

Norwich
Fulham
Ipswich
Derby
Blackburn

Derby and Blackburn might bring enough so you'b be looking at maximum 7 games this season, some of this might change depending on league position on date of the game, for instance Norwich might want 3500 for a saturday game but tuesday night it'll be one bus full, it might also change on how well we are dong at the time if we arent playing too bad they might want to keep the south stand atmosphere rolling

as for closing [art of the Kilner bank , our biggest attendance was against leeds but they will never let leeds fans into the Kilner bank so close to the town fans, but maybe Derby, Forrest possibly Boro so that would be 3 max
