Bloody BBC. They've built these two ice dancers up and up and up. Switched them over to BBC1. Told us they were gonna do a Torville n Dean.

They weren't even in the top three at the start of play. Why the ridiculous hype? Every time they build ours up like this, whatever the sport, we get let down.

You should have been watching NBC over here build up Shiffrin before she was 15th out of 18. Showed a life story feature on her before her slalom run.

Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson continued the "nearly" stories for Team GB when they finished 7th in the Ice Dance competition.

Meanwhile GBR started off well in the Men's Curling with a routine win over China by 9-4 with an end to play.

Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt set off on their Olympic journey tomorrow in Heats 1 and 2 in the Men's Bobsleigh, with both targeting a medal. Heats 3 and 4 to decide the standings are on Friday.

I get your point, but devil's advocate:

1. We're still waiting for our first medalists, and they could have been it.
2. I was persuaded to tune in by the hype, and despite it being obvious even to my layman's eye that they fluffed it early on, I still loved their Scottish dance routine, so the Beeb kinda did its job.
3. How many times did they build up Andy Murray? Was it not worth it in the end? Didn't you feel greater satisfaction and catharsis from having seen him try, try again? Should they have let him toil in total obscurity until his first final? Isn't there something to be said for letting athletes adjust to exposure and expectation?

All good points, Ska'd. They should've had extra points for the music. Some of the others were so awful we had to put them on mute.

That's a bit harsh on the Ukrainian skeleton lad. I know rules is rules and all that but, come on. A bit of leniency now and again. Huh

They've restored Vladyslav Heraskevych's accreditation so he can at least stay on site. Should think so, too.

GB beat Sweden 6-3 after 8 ends. Good result.

A pretty impressive win for GBR Men against Sweden, who still might prove dangerous if both teams qualify. Not so much for the GBR Women, who lost 4-7 to China. Good first half, but fell away after the break. The Men play Italy at 8am tomorrow, then Czechia at 1pm on Saturday with the Women playing Korea at 1pm tomorrow, then joint favourites Canada at 8am on Saturday.

Matt Weston leads the Skeleton after 2 runs with the 3rd and 4th runs at 6.30pm tomorrow. Marcus Wyatt is in 7th position, but probably too far behind to make the podium.

In Cross Country Skiing today Anna Price finished 24th, a best ever GBR finish in this event. She was over 2 minutes behind the winner, as were another 86 skiers, but definitely worth a mention.

I couldn't understand the women's tactics, Ritchie. They repeated a group of guards seemingly to protect a stone on the edge. I thought they were too negative after the break. That of course is the opinion of someone with a small amount of knowledge who thinks she's an expert every 4 years!

Andrew Musgrave has come 6th in the cross country ski event. This is an improvement on a previous 6th place by him. You can't complain at a bettered performance.
