Against all the odds, we managed to pick up our first league win of the season as we beat Pompey. We started ok and were rewarded when Bazza gave us the lead by scoring from the edge of the D with a free kick. Bannan nearly got a second but his effort was saved well. Pompey struggled to create much and we went in 1 up. We quickly got a second after the break when Brown pounced onto a ball after the Portsmouth player got injured but Brown carried on and finished well. We had a couple more chances to increase the lead but there keeper saved. Horvath had to make several saves near the end but we hung on and take 3 unlikely points

Next up and back to Hillsborough as we take on QPR. After a poor start, QPR have won there last 3, including a 1-0 win over second placed Stoke last week. If they can maintain that form they might have a chance of making the playoffs, but I think a more realistic finish would be mid table. They are managed Julien Stephan, who had been managing in France until he took the QPR job in June. There leading scorer is Richard Kone who has 3 goals so far this season.

3 games on the bounce coming up this is what will really kill us through this season! I just hope he plays the QPR without a thought of Birmingham in mind and not mix in rubbish like ugbo and Jenifer untill he really has no choice. I understand Brown weaver and others need looking after but we also need at least 4pts from these next 3 games to hopefully go into a break with a some kind of hope and confidence boost !
