It's Carabooboo time - Round 1 - Leicester City v Huddersfield Town

According to Bill Leslie who was commentating on the Leicester match today, we're playing this cup tie on Tuesday. He said it more than once and it was even down as such on the caption on screen. Given that it's down to Sky that the fixtures were moved, then that's an appalling cock-up. I don't expect much from these people but they should know that it would be highly unlikely that there would only be 48 hours between matches. He could have thought that today was Saturday but, again, I expect him to know what day he is watching a match. Bare minimum of knowledge to be expected, I would have thought. They don't improve, do they?

We have no history to call on in the League Cup but we have one FA Cup Round 4 victory in 2013.

Still, lets not get ahead of ourselves. We don't have the best record in Cup matches of late.
Leicester have won the League Cup 3 times in 1964, 1997, and 2000.
They were runners-up in 1965 and 1999.

So our first ever meeting in the League Cup comes as we start our second season in League One and as they were relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.
League-wise, we can't ask for better, being 2 games in with 2 wins, 2 clean sheets, and 5 goals, including one penalty that we actually scored!
Leicester have just beaten "down but not yet out" Sheffield Wednesday in their first match of the season. They came back from 1-0 down to win 2-1. Their goals came from Vestergaard and Faes and both were in the team last year. Other than that, I don't know who we will need to look out for. They may give any newbies or young 'uns a run out. I doubt we'll see the same team that was put out against the Wendies which was:

Leicester became the home of prominent suffragette Alice Hawkins (1863-1946)

Her statue is relatively new (less than 10 years) and can be found in Green Dragon Square

Here's hoping the result is closer to the 1-2 FA Cup replay win at their's when Scanz, after running down the touchline and up the dead ball line to score the winner from an impossible angle (well it looked like it from our end), than the hammering we got a few weeks or so earlier in the New Year fixture. Crikey, was that really 13 years (unlucky for some) and change ago?

Who's getting a start in this one then?

Castledine hopefully. See what he's got. Definitely Ashia after his heroics on Saturday. Probably Gooch for Sorensen but leave the rest as it is.

Winning momentum.

Yeah, you can mess around too much. Let's hope they completely disrupt their winning team while looking for another Chumpionship result at Both Ends on Saturday.

They've let Connell, or Nicholls as you like to call him, speak so maybe he's getting a game.
