"We want to push for promotion - I'm here to give everything I have and hopefully we'll achieve that together."

Norwich City have signed defender Harry Darling after he rejected a new deal offered by Championship rivals Swansea City.

The 25-year-old, who began his career at Cambridge United, has agreed a three-year deal at Carrow Road with the option of a further 12 months.

He is the second signing by the Canaries since the appointment of new head coach Liam Manning, following goalkeeper Dan Grimshaw.

Darling spent three seasons with Swansea, making 112 appearances in all competitions and scoring 12 goals.

He said: "I'm delighted, it's been a long time coming after a lot of conversations. I'm happy to finally get it sorted and I'm looking forward to getting started.

"Liam being in charge, I worked with him before at MK Dons so I didn't need convincing too much about the style of play. I really enjoyed it last time working with him."

Norwich sporting director Ben Knapper said: "We're absolutely thrilled to get this deal over the line. There was of course big competition for Harry's signature, so we're delighted to secure his services."

Earlier, in a post on X, Darling told Swansea fans he was leaving with a "heavy heart".

He added: "As I move on to the next chapter of my career, I will always reflect warmly on my time as a Jack, and I thank you for your support in good times and bad over these last few years."

The 26-year-old Croat spent last season on loan in Germany's Bundesliga, making 23 appearances for Bochum and scoring one goal.

Medic, who can also play in a holding midfield role, is Norwich's second defensive signing of the summer following Harry Darling from Swansea City.

"We were clear on what we needed to add defensively in order to improve this coming season and Jakov is a key part of that," said Canaries sporting director Ben Knapper.

"He's a great age and comes with a significant amount of experience during his time playing in both Germany and the Netherlands, in some big games.

Norwich City have signed goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic from Sporting on a four-year contract with an option for a further 12 months.

Kovacevic was most recently on loan with Polish club Legia Warsaw, and played against Chelsea in the Europa Conference League.

The Canaries have paid an undisclosed fee for the 27-year-old, who is the third keeper signed this summer after Daniel Grimshaw and Louie Moulden following the exit of first-choice Angus Gunn.

Sporting director Ben Knapper said Kovacevic is of "real pedigree" and added: "With over 250 career appearances under his belt, he comes with great experience and with the mentality to perform at a very high level.

"He's hungry to improve and develop, and those qualities are essential for us in what we are building here.

"His character is a great fit with the rest of our goalkeeping group, providing an atmosphere where they will all support but push each other hard on a daily basis."

Kovacevic began his career with Sarajevo, winning the Bosnian Premier League twice, before moving to Poland for the first time and playing for Rakow Czestochowa.

He joined Sporting last summer but only made six appearances for the Portuguese club.

"For me, it's my dream to play in the Premier League and I think every Norwich fan wants to be there again," he said.

Norwich begin the new season with a home game against Millwall on 9 August.

Norwich City have completed the signing of Denmark international forward Mathias Kvistgaarden.

The 23-year-old joins the Canaries from Brondby for a £6.9m fee on a four-year-deal, with the option of a further 12 months.

Kvistgaarden made his debut for Denmark against Northern Ireland last month and scored 23 goals in 38 appearances for Brondby in 2024-25.

Norwich are bracing themselves for the potential departures of star forwards Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent, a pair who weighed in with 33 goals and nine assists in last season's Championship campaign.
Kvistgaarden made his debut for Denmark in June 2025

Kvistgaarden told the club website, external: "Hopefully, I can come with a lot of energy as I did in my former club. Energy and positiveness, a big smile on my face every day.

"I don't think that it's a secret that - it's also my goal here - we have to go up to the Premier League. That's the club's goal and also my goal."

City's sporting director Ben Knapper said Kvistgaarden offered head coach Liam Manning a different option for the side, adding: "Mathias is a wonderfully talented, versatile attacking player who we believe will add another dimension to our team.

"His movement and ability to attack space is elite, and the spirit with which he plays will endear and connect him to our supporters immediately."

Emil Bellaiche, who covers Brondby for Danish newspaper Tipsbladet, said he was surprised Kvistgaarden has chosen a move to Carrow Road.

"It was quite a surprise when Norwich suddenly popped up," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"If Brondby fans had to guess, they would have said he would end up at a bigger club, even though Norwich is a big club.

"He's been linked with the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig, but I think it will be the right thing for him to go to Norwich."

Kvistgaarden joined Brondby as a 13-year-old and represented his country at all youth levels.

He played for the under-21s in the recent European Championships where Denmark were beaten by France at the quarter-final stage.

He will link up again with former team-mates Anis Ben Slimane and Oscar Schwartau at Carrow Road.

"They [Kvistgaarden and Schwartau] are probably the biggest two talents in recent years from Brondby so it will be exciting to follow them," added Bellaiche.

"I would describe Kvistgaarden as an all-round attacker, even though he is not that tall. He used to do gymnastics when he was younger so he's one of the guys in the Danish league who can jump the highest.

"He scored quite a lot of headed goals and he's a very aggressive player. In his younger days he wasn't as sharp in front of goal but it's something he has really worked on."

With Kvistgaarden's gymnastic prowess, City fans can expect to see some high-octane celebrations when the Dane scores.

"He can do all sorts of things, he'll do a cartwheel and then a backflip. He's a person who likes to celebrate his goals." said Bellaiche.

Winger Borja Sainz has left Norwich City and joined Porto for £14.25m.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the 30-time Portuguese champions following a two-year spell at Carrow Road.

Sainz was the club's top scorer last season with 18 Championship goals despite missing six games through suspension as a result of a spitting incident.

The Spaniard joined the Canaries from Turkish side Giresunspor in June 2023.

Norwich sporting director Ben Knapper told the club website: "During his time with us, his performances and impact have been brilliant. He gave us all many memorable moments, scored some spectacular goals and was often the deciding factor in many of our games.

"This is a fantastic move for all parties, with Borja now progressing onto the next stage of his career with a top European club in FC Porto.

"It also demonstrates once again our ability to identify and develop players for the highest levels of the game, and everyone involved deserves huge credit for their work."

The Canaries were bracing themselves for Sainz's departure and have brought in Denmark international Mathias Kvistgaarden who can operate as a striker and winger.

It remains to be seen if forward Josh Sargent will follow Sainz out of club - the United States international has been linked with a move to Premier League new boys Burnley but has three years left on his contract.
In his first season at Norwich, Sainz scored on his debut in an EFL Cup tie against Fulham and went on to add another seven goals in all competitions, including a memorable FA Cup goal against Liverpool at Anfield.

He began the 2024-25 season in blistering fashion scoring 16 goals from 20 appearances in all competitions, a run including two hat-tricks against Derby County and Plymouth Argyle.

However, his form dipped in the second half of the campaign and he only added two more to his tally, finishing second in the Championship top scorer list behind Leeds United's Joel Piroe.

This dip in form was compounded by Sainz receiving a six-match ban for spitting at Sunderland defender Chris Mepham in the game at the Stadium of Light in December 2024.

He made a full apology for the incident, saying in a statement: "Spitting at an opponent is completely out of character for me, and my reaction in that moment was unacceptable....I am deeply disappointed in myself and for letting all of you down through my conduct."

Speaking following Norwich's 3-1 pre-season win over Northampton Town on Saturday, new head coach Liam Manning told BBC Radio Norfolk that Sainz's move was a "terrific deal" for the club.

He added: "It allows us to improve the team, and that's part and parcel of football now.

"My job is to concentrate on what we've got here and how we get the group ready for next week and beyond. We're working hard behind the scenes to add.

"There are still a few faces we need to add and will add so we'll keep pushing on that and make the squad as strong as we can."
