Match Thread - Derby
Could someone with the iron gut to listen to SG's post match drivel, kindly post the breakdown?

I personally didn't think we played too badly, what killed us was the substitutions. They just didn't need to be made at all Doh (other than kirkland on)

I can't fúcking stand Derby. They've nicked our bounce song the pricks

Stuart Gray says the Owls deserved something from a thrilling Championship contest at the iPro Stadium.

Wednesday went down 3-2 in the Midlands but only after Derby twice came from behind.

A late penalty settled matters and goalkeeper Keiren Westwood was sent off, which Gray felt was harsh.

He said: “I thought it was similar to the Wayne Rooney one the other night at Preston.

“The referee has a decision to make and I think we’ve been punished twice.

“Whether it’s a penalty or not, Kamil Zayatte was back to cover so I thought it was a yellow card if he was going to be punished.

“It was harsh but then I thought we deserved something from the game.

“We have pushed Derby all the way and they are a very good side who I think will get promoted.

“I’m disappointed because we’ve conceded all three goals from set pieces – two corners and a penalty.

“But we were much better than our last away game at Ipswich and we can travel to Millwall on Tuesday with plenty of encouragement to take from this game today.”

Kirkland looked dependable when he came on, stopped a few balls across the goal which would have made it 4/5-2
Lees, I'm sure, will be back to his best.

I'd play the exact same team that started but with Kirkland in for Westwood (assuming we're not contesting the sending off)

I'd agree somewhat ( of course I was listening and not watching like some of you) we seemed to hold our own for the most part, Derby sounded a bit off the boil, both equalising goals were calamitous and not SG's fault.

It was his subsequent decision to shut up shop against a team that has lost 2 league games at home all season, That piss poor decision invited Derby to pretty much sit in our half, I didn't even really hear Maguires name mentioned, midfield was easily over run.

Even on a day like yesterday, where Derby did not play their best they still have the ability to get back in to games and see them out.

Derby are not top of the league by allowing teams like us, to just 'shut up shop' in their own back yard.... stupid decision if ever I've seen one, insulting to Derby and xxxx ignorant on SG's behalf

Ah yes, I had forgotten that.

Either way it's going to be bloody cold on the North Stand at the New Den.

Yesterday we gave it a go against probably the best team in the division, but as the stats suggest they were all over us for most of the game!! If SG wanted to ighten things up then for starters he took the wrong striker off, Nuhiu did nothing all game and while I agreed with getting Helan further up field to provide some pace, it should have been at the expense of a midfielder, not a striker!! I would have put May on instead of Nuhiu, as again, gives us some pace and running for our breaks.

As regards Tuesday, I would bring Mattock in at LB, push Helan up to midfield in place of Maghoma. Maghoma is wasted out on the wing, so lets put Helan there. Hutchinson and McGugan would stay in the middle, although I am tired of seeing very little from Hutchinson and would like to see Semedo back in there if he is fit. Lee should be out right in midfield, him and Palmer worked well earlier in the season.
