Leyton Orient have signed versatile forward Jamie Donley on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Donley made his Premier League debut for Spurs last December against Manchester City, one of four appearances he's made so far.

The 19-year-old has been part of the club's academy since 2013 and has also made seven appearances for England's under-19 side, scoring five goals.

Donley said he wanted to "get first-team football under my belt" by joining Orient.

"I'm a team player. I like to score, assist and defend. I'll do whatever I can to help the team win, and will do what the staff ask of me.

"I played left-back for Tottenham in pre-season, I can play in midfield and anywhere across the front three," he said.

He becomes the O's seventh signing this summer, ahead of their League One game away to Charlton on Saturday.

Leyton Orient have signed midfielder Dominic Ball on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has been without a club since he was released by Ipswich Town in the summer.

The O's are currently bottom of League One with no points from their first four matches but are through to the third round of the Carabao Cup.

"I look at the squad here, and it's full of really talented, young players, but you also need those older heads who have played at all different types of levels," he told the club website., external

"In my last two seasons at Ipswich we achieved back-to-back promotions, which was achieved by working hard individually and collectively.

"I'm hopeful that I can bring some of my experience from my career to help this team."

Ball was part of the academy at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Rotherham United in 2016.

Loans at Peterborough United and Aberdeen followed before he moved permanently to QPR in 2019, where he made 97 appearances.

Orient travel to Reading in League One on Saturday.

Leyton Orient have signed midfielder Sonny Perkins from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old had been on loan at the O's since the start of the season and has played 29 times in all competitions, scoring four goals.

"The Sonny we have signed today is a different Sonny to the one that joined us on loan in the summer. He is developing into a man and I know that there is still plenty more to come from him.

Leyton Orient will not offer 40-year-old Darren Pratley a new playing contract but are in talks with the veteran midfielder about another role, the League One club say.

The O's finished sixth in the league this season and reached the play-off final, where they were beaten by London rivals Charlton at Wembley.

Pratley was not involved in any of the O's play-off matches but made 43 appearances this season, and 165 in total for the club over four seasons.

"Darren Pratley has been a huge part of what we have achieved in the last few years," director of football Martin Ling told the club's website, external.

"We won't be offering him a new playing contract but would love to keep him in and around us, so are speaking to him about another role. We hope he decides to stay but will respect whatever decision he comes to."

Pratley is one of eight players who have been released by the O's at the end of their contracts, along with Jayden Sweeney, Randell Williams, Joe Pigott, Sam Howes, Rhys Byrne, Reon Smith-Kouassi, Thomas Avgoustidis.

Richie Wellens said after the final loss it was "heart-breaking" knowing the squad would be broken up, with loan stars Charlie Kelman, Josh Keeley, Jack Currie, Jamie Donley and Dilan Markanday all returning to their parent clubs.

"Our loan players have been fantastic this year, and I'm sure that they will all go on to have successful careers, wherever they may end up," Ling said.

Omar Beckles, Dom Ball and Dan Agyei are among the players in contract talks with the club.

Jack Simpson, Noah Phillips and Makai Welch have also held talks.

"We are in talks with a number of first-team players about new contracts and hope that these players will decide to stay with us," Ling added.

"We are building something good at the club and want them to continue being part of it.

"It is a very important summer for us, and all the decisions we have made – some of which have been very difficult – have been made with the future of Leyton Orient in mind."

Dan Agyei has rejected Leyton Orient's offer of a new contract in order to join Turkish Super Lig club Kocaelispor.

The 28-year-old has signed a two-year deal, external with last season's TFF First League champions.

Agyei moved to Brisbane Road from Crewe Alexandra two years ago and made 72 appearances for Richie Wellens' side.

He scored 18 goals for Orient, including memorable winners against Millwall in the Carabao Cup and in added time of extra time to eliminate Oldham Athletic in the most dramatic of circumstances in the FA Cup second round last season.

The forward made 54 appearances last term as the O's finished sixth and went on to reach the League One play-off final before losing 1-0 to Charlton Athletic at Wembley.

"Dan is someone we wanted to keep, and that was reflected in the offers we have made him over the last few months," director of football Martin Ling told the club website, external.

"Sadly, we weren't able to come to an agreement that suited him and that fitted within our wage structure, so on this occasion we have had to go our separate ways.

"We have been prepared for this situation since the end of last season, and now we will look to bring someone in to replace Dan."

Head coach Wellens signed a contract extension to run until 2028 last week.

The O's begin the new League One campaign away to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, 2 August.

Leyton Orient have signed winger Demetri Mitchell on a free transfer from Exeter City.

The 28-year-old turned down a contract from the Grecians in favour of a move to Brisbane Road.

Mitchell made 61 appearances for Exeter across two years, scoring 12 goals.

He missed the start and end of last season with injury, having suffered a serious knee ligament injury that kept him out for much of 2024.

Mitchell becomes Richie Wellens' second summer signing, following goalkeeper Killian Cahill's move from Brighton & Hove Albion.

"It feels great to be here. The club is full of energy and you can tell there is a very good team here. It's full of togetherness and I'm buzzing to get going," he told the club's website, external.

"I've spoken to the manager before and it's clear there is big ambition here. I want to progress and that is my aim here.

"I'm a versatile and attack-minded player. I like to get on the ball and drive with it and show a bit of flair, so hopefully the fans can see that here at Leyton Orient."

Orient will begin the new League One season away to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, 2 August.

Leyton Orient defender Jack Simpson has signed a new one-year deal.

Simpson, 28, has made 31 appearances for Orient since joining in February 2024 from Cardiff and will head into his second full season at the club after extending his contract until next summer.

The former Bournemouth and Rangers defender said: "It's been a special 18 months for me here. It feels like a proper family, and it feels like I am part of that family. I've really enjoyed my time here so far, every day coming in feels great."

Manager Richie Wellens, who led Orient to last season's League One play-off final, said: "Jack's a proper player, but he knows he needs to stay fit this season and get himself into the team."

He added: "When Jack was in the team last year, he looked really good. Defensively, he's so solid.

"It's now up to Jack to take the bull by the horns, and I'm always fair to the players, so whoever is training the best and performing the best on the pitch will take the shirt."
