THE LAST MATCH

Another chance completely missed to get closer to absolute safety but at the same time another hit on the nails sticking out of SGs coffin!!! Thumb down  Thumb up   Not sure this was a totally inept performance, by all accounts we played some decent stuff, but boy it was a totally inept performance in front of goal!!  Our goalscoring record this season is abysmal, its been like that all season and yet still we try nothing different to try to find some goals!!  For those gluttons for punishment, here is the video!! Doh  Posted the short version rather than the extended one!!

THE MATCH - SAT 21TH FEB 2015 15.00 GMT

This is probably about as tough a game as we will face all season.  Derby are on form, riding high in the top two and we have not done well at their place in recent years, losing 3-0 on 3 out of the last 4 visits there!!!  Our record at Pride Park is W1 D4 L6, so its not been a happy place for us!!

This will be the 126th meeting between us and our record stands at W41 D37 L47, with our last win at Pride Park being back in the Championship in 2006 when we won 2-0 with Tudgay and Best scoring for us.  Earlier this season we managed to draw 0-0 against them at S6!!  Of course we didn't realise at that point how many of those 0-0 draws or games where we didin't score we would have this season!!! Angry

CLASSIC MATCH

I have only been to Pride park one time to see Wednesday play and it was back in the Premier League in 2000, our last season up there!! Angry   Me and my father went to the game and sat in the main stand among all the sheepshaggers having been given a couple of tickets by my best man, who is a Derby fan.  Twice we were 2 goals up through goals from Giles De Bilde, a cracker from Gerald Sibon and a last minute goal that looked to be the winner from Simon Donnelly!!  So as we went into injury time 3-1 up, looking good for a vital win my father cracked open his flask and we sat there with smiles on our faces drinking the last cup of coffee in it!!!  Just as we had poured it, Derby snatched a second goal to make it 2-3 and before we had finished it they scored again to make it 3-3!!!  Two flucking injury time goals saw us drop two crucial points in a season where we got relegated by only 5 points in the end!! Angry Having said that I would take a 3-3 draw this Saturday!! Whistle

POTENTIAL LIVE STREAMING SITES

Each game I will post the links to the websites anyone mentions on the thread.  That way its easier to find the potential threads rather than scrolling through all the posts on the thread to find the ones where a link is posted.  Lets see how ths works.

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Ref - Darren Bond
Assistants - Alan Clayton and Andrew Fox
Fourth Official - Mark Haywood

MS will hopefully give us the skinny on this guy in previous Owls games!!

CURRENT FORM

OWLS  -   AngryUndecidedAngryUndecidedAngryUndecided
DERBY -   AngryBig GrinBig GrinBig GrinUndecidedUndecided

We there you go, they haven't managed a win in their last two games, and Toytown managed to put three past them last night, so there is hope after all!!!  Of course we haven't won now in the last 6 games and have only scored 3 goals in that stretch as well!!!

OTHER GAMES OF MILD INTEREST

Middlesbrough v Leeds
Blackburn v Blackpool
Brentford v Bournemouth
Ipswich v Reading
Millwall v Fulham

As we are playing Derby I have chosen the three derby games this Saturday and two games that are not too far away!!!

THE TEAM

I assume Loovens, Semedo and Keane will all be out this week.  Not many options left up front now are there??  Of course Maguire will go straight back into the team after his suspension, probably in place of Lee or Mags.  Bus has to staet, was impressed with his header in the BHA game which brought out a good save from their keeper, so maybe its time for Bus with May as the next combination.  I expect SG to go with the following:

Westwood
Palmer Zayette Lees Helan
Lee Hutchinson McGugan Maguire
Bus May

The Bastard in the Black is Darren Bond. 78 Yellows & 3 red cards from 28 matches this season. He is in his third season as a FL referee.

He is from Lancashire and refereed United's match at Notts County last night. His Wednesday record is:

Sept 14 - OWLS 1-1 Ipswich - 2Y
Feb 14 - OWLS 0-1 Derby - 6Y

So played two, drawn one, lost one.

Nice one SCO!

I really don't expect much from this game except a sore arse, fingers crossed we take 3pts against Milwall, but our record against bottom teams is great isn't it!

4-1 Mcgugan

Then I saw this and it made me laugh, it only counts the Championship goals not pub league goals. Mark Crossley has scored one less Championship goal for us than Giles Coke... I hope it's incorrect as it states Maguire is our current top scorer during our time in the Championship.
