Just read on news now that there are rumours of a new stadium for us after the takeover, it stated that there was talk of extending capacity to 40000 and or a new stadium.
I know it’s only rumours but what is the general feeling on a new stadium?
My personal view, I hate the current crop of soulless, cut and paste stadia. I love the Hawthorns and the fact it has been our home for over 124 years.
I also know, in order to compete with and in the greed league we need bigger crowds, more revenue but do we want to sell our soul to become just another copybook football club with profit put before the fans.

New stadium? NO NO NO!!!
And WHERE??? What District??? You've got to be aware of populations and matters of fanbase - can't imagine the new Owners knowing much about Albion's fanbase, and accessibility.
Albion will not get too many more attending - certainly not 40,000 regulars. And if we moved (wherever?) we'd more likely get LESS.
The facts are that, as yet, not too many Asian-origin people are that interested, and I don't think that having a top Premier Club would change that.

Talksaft,
My views exactly, love the stadium, love the location. Albion’s problems are historic, there has never been lots of money in the Black Country,
Albion fans generally, are from hardworking working class backgrounds, they do not have the horay Henry’s prawn sandwich brigade spending power. a few local famous people follow our beloved club. The club know this and price accordingly, our numbers can reach 40 or 50000 for big games at Wembley but not week in week out.
We can not raise the funds regularly enough to pay the big bucks for wages and transfers.
One of our strong points is the atmosphere our fans create at the shrine. A half empty new hawthorns would not create the same intimidating noise.

As a visitor, the Hawthorns is one of my favourites. Good location. Traditional, good view, not full of dickheads. It's transitioned nicely into the modern era. Why do you need to move?

There’s more chance of an uninjured striker than a new or expanded stadium when we rarely sell it out. Maybe if we get promoted and settled but absolutely not before then

Correct.

Correct.
64,800 managed to squeeze in
Cup tie in 1937.
More revenue to balance the books will not be achieved by larger crowds. It's the PL fortunes we need £100m + a season.Get that and you wouldn't need any paying spectators or larger grounds.

Great comments from all, above, and let's not forget 4Eva's original comment:
"....sell our soul to become just another copybook football club with profit put before the fans".
Me, I'd rather Albion play Championship Football than, if (say) Jeff Bezos or the Saudi King bought us as a toy.
I've gone off Football generally (not the Albion!!) and hardly recognise 1/2 the Arsenal, City, or Liverpool players!

Your spot on with hardly knowing the big clubs players. The family feeling amongst them must have been lost. Replaced by bragging. I still feel a baggies lad after many years.
They aren't that brilliant even the European clubs The Spanish - French - Italian who spend very little on players give them a hard time.
Football has changed from a family institution to a passing event to a lot of folks now.
As for rich owners, they may own the shares but the clubs belong to the fans

I have just read exactly the same story, but relating to the 'Vile', suggesting they will buy Alexandra Stadium and the surrounding land and build a 70,000 seater with all the amenities including a hotel.

I don't 'get' these new fans like Hammers/Spurs/Brighton etc who are now pretty-well doubling their attendances of 5-6 years ago.
Where were they 5-6 yrs ago, is what I don't 'get' ??? They can't all be real fans.
