Sounds like good news - and all of a sudden there are really positive signs on AND off the pitch.
When was the last time we could say that? Huh Big Grin Thumb up

I will be really surprised if we don't sell players during the Jan window.
The additional loan money has obviously been taken as we running out again.

Given the speed Albion operate at, considering our activity in transfer windows, I’d expect us to sell of the family jewels and then complete the take-over and then suffer until summer when we can buy a squad.

I really do hope I am wrong and for once my Christmas comes early. But this is what the club does to me.

Always tempting and with promise but never quite delivering the goods.

I'm convinced players will be moved on in January. The new loan money may help starve off silly bids. Looking at the squad a few could fetch money, others just need to dumped.
Cash generators (sell 4)
Griffith's, Palmer, Grady, Swift, Wallace, Molumby, Fellows, Asante

Get rid off them all.
Reach, Kelly, Dike, Grant, Tulloch. Malcom, TGH.

I still think we have made a huge mistake with TGH, he has been voted November Player of the Month at BC, and have you seen that goal he scored in their last match against Middlesbrough? https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sp...top-corner

I agree, Salop. He's a Baggies supporter as well.

Yes the goal was a thing of beauty.

Alas we need £10 million minium from sales to try and survive the rest of the season.

Our financial situation only continues to get worse.

My fear is our owners seeing our league position think they can get a better price or if they believe for a moment we could

get promotion a £100m bonus is waiting. They will drag any sale out until they have no other options.

Why wouldn't they wait, it's costing them nothing - actually they're still drawing a fortune in wages.

They certainly are in no hurry to sell up.

We are losing approx £2m a month (like all other championship clubs) but others have backers we don't.

Sales are unavoidable - madness but that's the reality of our situation.

Good points, Blue. But IF Lai & Co decide to 'up the price' (based on our promising optimism with Carlos in charge) the prospective
Buyers would have another think. If we lose Carlos, and nosedive, our £50m valuation will halve by next Year.

Lai has to sell and quickly to get any money at all.

The potential of Premier League and big money is a false dawn for him. That is unless he actually invested more and allowed Carlos to build the squad and he could be at the helm of a promotion club. But he would have done that if he actually wanted it (or was allowed to).

The reality is that the potential is only theoretically and is only achievable if Lai sells. The potential relies heavily on us keeping Carlos at the helm and performing miracles with the players he has.

The minute the fire sale happens in January we are on a spiral of doom.  We drop out of the promotion race, Carlos gives up and gets tempted away to a club with sponsors (most likely to happen in either scenario) and we end up with an unknown manager and the remnants of a squad to try and stay in the Championship.

Then we become yet another poor football club looking at managers starting their careers and building squads from the young and lower league starlets and will spend years, if not decades fighting to survive.

We need to protect this squad and manager at all costs.  If this is not resolved by Dec 31 then I fear the very worse.

Happy Christmas everyone Sad
