We conclude March's fixture list on Wednesday by kicking off for the last time this season under a night sky, our next evening games being on the far (and hopefully sunlit) side of Easter. Cardiff is the destination, and having seen off two of the bottom four sides in the last week - if not in swashbuckling fashion - we have the opportunity to make it three under the lights in South Wales, injuries and grotesque away form permitting.

It's our first visit since the 4-0 drubbing we dished out to them under Ismael in autumn 2021; the fateful high point of his tenure, after which everything went so badly wrong. Another victory tomorrow would secure our first back-to-back wins in the Welsh capital since Joe Mayo and Barry Donaghy brought home the points in front of a crowd of 6,000 at Ninian Park in October 1974 (Bomber having been the difference between the sides a year earlier). But ominously, much like Hull, Cardiff have earned breathing space thanks to building two consecutive home wins on two consecutive clean sheets in the last month, while Albion's dismal travelling record now stands at four defeats on the trot, and at least two goals conceded in each.

Concede first on Wednesday, and I think another long and thankless night will be on the cards. But if the playoffs are to stay in our sights, we have to find a way of turning the away curse around this week, in time for the run-in.

We needed a 2nd goal. Sitting back is not what we are good at. We paid the price for not going for the win. CC needs to stop being so cautious we desperately need the points. Even draws are not good enough at this stage.
