Why is Jackson going on loan? Should be in our first XI, imo.

A quick review of our January transfer business
IN Florian Kamberi FC Winterthur Free Transfer Tomáš Vaclík Olympiacos Undisclosed LOANS IN Matthew Lowton Burnley End of Season Anthony Knockaert Fulham End of Season Martyn Waghorn Coventry City End of Season Joseph Hungbo Watford End of Season OUT Connor Shanks Spennymoor Town Released Jon Russell Barnsley Undisclosed LOANS OUT David Adewoju Bradford (Park Avenue) Donay O’Brien-Brady Hyde United Sorba Thomas Blackburn Rovers Josh Austerfield Morecambe Loick Ayina Dundee United Giosue Bellagambi Salford City Aaron Rowe Stockport County Ryan Schofield Crawley Town
Well you needed goals. Knockaert at Championship level usually scores some from advanced midfield. Waghorn used to score. Kamberi hasn't scored significant goals since 2018 and then it was only with Grasshoppers II, Hungbo apparently takes a magic freekick occasionally. All four together might equal the scoring power the Posh gained when they took Tshimanga on a loan from Chesterfield that becomes a transfer next season ........... (What a bad day it was when you waved goodbye to Paul Mullin).
You needed a keeper. Vaclik isn't the biggest or the best, but he's experienced and should do a good job for you. Lowton may have seen better days, but he can do the job. Unfortunately you've lost, or despatched, two of your best players. You've missed Russell's creativity all season and might find he's made himself part of a team that will replace you in the Championship. He could be just what they need for the play-offs. And as for Sorba Thomas, you seemed to have wrecked him even before his pointless and disappointing holiday in Qatar. It's hard to understand how a club can let a player decline so quickly from a mainspring to a broken spring. I hope he finds himself at Blackburn. Like Chesterfield, your club has demonstrated to its fans the submarine level of its ambition. But at least the Fat Lady is only standing in the wings for now.

We've just signed another goalie on loan as well.
New exciting formation coming for the QPR game this weekend We're going with the 2 new goalies in goal at the same time, one covering the left hand side, the other covering the right hand side. A back 3 of central defenders 2 wing back who are actually defenders with clear instructions not to go beyond the line of Jonny Hogg and a holding midfield trio who will rotate between that and the back three to make up a defensive line of 8 oh and Jordan Rhodes wandering around the centre circle trying to feed off the endless and aimless long balls sent up to him. Confident we can grind out some cracking 0-0 draws

One answer to most of your questions and points Devon and thanks for your thoughts, no harm an "outsider" casting a critical eye over things.
The answer is the clueless wonder that is Fotheringham, aided and abetted by yet more piss poor decisions on the scouting front. Russell wasn't in the least bit creative unfortunately, every time he played this season. The main reasons being (in my opinion) - he didn't have O'Brien running around like a whippet to create space for him, and/or - "The General" aka the Hoggmeister to do the midfield tackling to take that weight off his shoulders either. Pretty much he was pitched in with the kids we'd brought up a division or two, who were all trying to work out their own jobs in the side, and do what he does, plus the other two that had left/were "injured". The net result was a player often swamped by the other side's high or medium press and looking like he was the Queen Mary doing a 3 point turn for the most part. Always know your limitations and the two coaches we've had so far clearly don't know theirs or those of their players. Am I saying we shouldn't have taken Forests money? Yes, O'Brien is already at Blackburn along with Sorba the Taff and Toffolo was supposedly lining up a move to Anderlecht. Sorba, has made it plain for most of the season he hasn't wanted to be here. Don't know if that's club in general, or just pissed off regarding the Corberan saga and all that has followed, or he's got an ego bigger than his head now he's played 10 minutes in a World Cup, but what is plain is that Fotheringham is not the answer to his issues, whatever they are. Once all the old farts we've signed are all fit to play, maybe by the end of March, we might look decent, but we will be so far adrift by then the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth acting as tugs at full speed won't pull us out of the relegation zone. Some season's it's a joy to be a Town fan ..... ![]() Apart from the 2nd keeper, no change there then Wakey. Nil 'em all to death is Frotheringham's mantra, we don't need goals to win in this league. Ah, that 3rd Choice keeper from Forest, that has never played for Forest either - is he in part payment for LOB and Toffo? Why is he better (just because he's older) than Bilokapic?

About that LOB move to Blackburn ...
![]() https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/lewis-...-decision/ If this comes off, then as soon as Blackburn make their first payment, Forest have to cough up what they still owe us on LOB. If it doesn't, there's a very good player we didn't need to sell, but I understand why he went, who wouldn't have? who's going to be kicking his heels the rest of the season. It also smacks of "a kid in a sweet shop" approach by Forest to recruitment if they are already offloading players they bought for this season to try and stay up.
