Enough Is Enough Saido !!!

Whether what he said is OK or not, the boy needs to learn to keep his f'ing mouth shut. He comes across as an arrogant, spoilt child and all he does is pass off fans (and probably TP and team mates). I'd seriously drop him for a bit and get Sess back in the side behind Vic - he's plays that #10 role better than Saido anyway

There is a lot of sensible talk on here by posters, also a lot of bile. For me, I couldn't care less what he says as long as he keeps his mind on the playing field and scores goals: at least to keep us up, then what he does at the end of the season so be it, this club will continue to survive. As for BBBerahino, what comes around comes around...

Need the points as Burnley though.

He doesn't do himself any favors with his general contribution to the media.

I'm sure this was supposed to endear him to the fans, a 'i'll give it my best shot when i'm here' type deal. But it doesn't come across well. Not only will that bother us, but also his potential suitors too (I'm sure most teams would prefer to buy a better pro who doesn't keep isolating himself).

Would be happy for him to move on in the summer when we have the time and money to replace him. I just hope he does what he says and scores the goals to keep us up.

Yeah, that's pretty much my opinion. The media know they can count on Saido as a rent-a-quote headline-spinner on slow news days, because they can ask him leading questions which he'll walk headlong into, and his agent or advisor is probably egging him on all the way. The sad thing is that he probably did think he was being really respectful with his answers, but he just shouldn't have been giving the interview in the first place. You don't see these kind of quotes from the likes of Harry Kane or Raheem Sterling, and that's not necessarily because they're less arrogant or more intelligent, but they've just got wiser heads around them making sure they don't do this stuff.

It's so typical of footballers and it just makes me want to cry.

Saido sadly has just a little in the grey matter department as many of his colleagues and add to that is young and arrogant so ignores any sage like advice he might get from agents, friends and the club.

His words most certainly will have been twisted by the press (he press are no saints and we would be equally stupid if we over reacted based upon their say) - in the depth of it he is trying to say:

1. Don't worry Albion fans, I am here to score goals and keep West Brom in the Premiership
If we start to boo and jeer him because of what the press say, he might not perform on the pitch - so don't get on his back!

2. I want to move on to bigger and better things - progress my career.
If he scores goals and keeps us up then naturally there will be 'big club' interest in him and we almost certainly would sell - nothing really has changed. If we'd been offered £25m early in the January transfer window, we'd have taken it!

So, nothing has changed really other than he said something obvious to a journalist who then sensationalised it to get air time.

Stay supportive of him. Let him score goals and keep The Albion up. Let the 'big boys' fight for his signature. Start planning for a new 2015/16 Strike force early.

A lot of wise words on here, he needs to be careful what he says and to whom, he has said that he owes the club a lot, it is clear he will try his best for the albion, he is however young and maybe a little reckless, keep supporting him, encourage him to perform and the club and results will be okay ...... we are not going to be able to challenge for the title or European glory anytime soon, so yes any player would want to move on at some point, we all would, we want to be the best that we can be work with the best there is and get as much as we can out of life. don't beat him up for stating the bleeding obvious, pity him for his careless whispers ......

But always support the Albion, the players and the manager as long as they wear the shirt.

Why dont we just ban him from speaking to the media?

Then if anything does come out he can be subject to disciplinary.

Id be surprised if many clubs want him, he seems to have a bit of Ronaldo attitude about him where he wants everything to revolve around him and that he is the central figure,

Difference is Ronaldo backs this up with 40+goals a year and proves him self at the highest level.

Berahino would be so out of his depth in any european game, I still do not rate the guy that highly!

Take any offer we get for him and watch him flop!

Gurantee in the future there will be a big story about him! The guy is on self destruct!

it will be drink driving / a ched evans scenario!

Stairs - totally agree with your post.   He's a young lad and in time will learn who and who not to speak to. I'm sure when I was his age I probably made numerous mistakes as a result of a lack of life's experiences.  So as the saying goes - people in glass houses....

Torygraph website reckons the club are furious, abandoning plans to talk about new contract, will sell him in the summer.
Who knows?
My biggest fear is that he suddenly becomes Odemwingie and we get nothing out of him for the rest of the season. We need him scoring goals.

Get rid in the summer, if they can get £20M it will be decent business (perhaps some kind of clauses as well) It seems like we say the same thing every year but this summer we really do need to overhaul the aging/championship players £20M will go along way to doing that if they start the scouting now
