A nice "little earner"/pay off for GVB and he can head back to The Netherlands better off and very comfortable plus he'll prob get another gig soon enough anyway. Apparently Dyche is "in the running" to take over. It will be interesting to see if he takes the job though. They have such a high regard for themselves AS USUAL - totally ill-conceived and utter arrogance personified as they still don't have the financial clout to justify this stance. I think luckily reaching a Euro final last season absolutely "got to their heads" and they cannae take a sudden change in fortune where they've been "shown up"/hammered by richer and superior footie clubs that also have good resources to take on the additional commitments/demands of Euro footie during a challenging footie season.

Whoever comes in is still facing the same issues as before, a squad that is totally disjointed and with a whole swathe of players out of contract. And Journeymen players with no resell value being given bumper deals. And going by those accounts not a lot of cash for a rebuild.... Maybe they have some other scam to rob the public purse for years lined up ?

I think it will be Beale. He was up the other week, doing podcasts etc and Gio was complaining about his influence on things today in the press.

I actually liked GVB, and he can feel very badly treated by that mob. His record was nowhere near disastrous and he had them in a European final only months ago. He was a dutch international, went to a world cup, managed in the CL.

He will have got his big payoff but i bet you he is rueing the day he got into bed with that bunch of snakes.

All the pressure was on the huns today to win and they couldn't get it over the line, even with celtic turning in a stinker of a performance outside the first 25 (when they looked embarrassingly in control)

Beale moaning about them going too defensive when ahead was a headscratcher...You made the defensive changes ya trout lipped, cockney radge.

And anyone can see they got massively out of jail with that goldson handball.

They are effectively 10 points behind going into a spell where Celtic have more home games. Can't see the title not staying at Parkheid.

When you see the lengths the judiciary and police go to to try and protect “their” club from perceived attack (and the whole sheriff wood thing in the press now underlines it) , how hard is it to imagine that mere refs/officials are also doing the same ? Not hard at all.

A sheriff who owned shares in Rangers FC is to retire after it emerged that he colluded with a senior police officer before submitting a dishonest and misleading report during the botched police investigation into the takeover of the Ibrox club.

David Grier, 61, a consultant with the financial firm Duff & Phelps, lodged a formal complaint against Sheriff Lindsay Wood with the Judicial Office for Scotland last May.

Wood granted 22 warrants to police during the ill-fated fraud investigation despite regularly appearing at Rangers matches and social events and being said to have a framed photograph of the club’s stadium in his chambers.

The warrants included one in 2015 which permitted officers to raid the London offices of Holman Fenwick Willan, the legal firm representing Duff & Phelps.

This police operation was later found to be unlawful and “executed without proper safeguards"

The times have absolutely ripped this scandal a new one while tiptoeing around the huns liquidation and the fact their rancid, bigoted, thicko fans sat on their hands and watched their club die.
£40million in payouts, before we get to the costs of the investigations and the fallout from a blatant attempt to use the scottish justice system to attack some people who they thought were not doing what they wanted. . And he gets to quietly retire !!!!

Oh look...

Sevco are writing to the SFA for an explanation over a perfectly understandable decision to disallow fatboys goal on saturday.
We all know what this means, they pull the same shit after just about every poor result, Beaton will likely get the Semi final as a result.

Their fans are veering wildly from the game being a dead rubber and an irrelevance to raging about non existent handballs denying them a chance to narrow the gap.

What should be worrying their support is the accounts showing they have blown all their financial windfall with aribo and bassey on a succession of non footballers, crocks, and paying off GVB.

I believe these morons have also been involved in revealing the personal details of the referee, Clancy. Police Scotland getting involved in a separate investigation. It just confirms the level of intimidation and angst that prevails with these poisonous aggressors when they don't get their own way, particularly in big matches that matter. This has been going on for such a long time, and it is absolutely outrageous that it has never been seriously challenged at all esp when it is clear to all and sundry that they are given advantages by ref officials with such a threat always hanging around in the background.

No surprises there.

They have already had Collum banned from their games for him sending some hun off, then an 8 page dossier on Clancy for giving a pk against them.
You put 2 hands on someone in the box nowadays it's a pk or a foul, just like that Livvy goal that got chopped off against them. And for that him and his family are being threatened.

They absolutely revel in their toxicity.

How many share issues of private money into this lossmaking enterprise has sevco issued now in recent weeks to keep the lights on ?
Followed by departures of Park, wilson and soon Robertson too apparently.
Court actions kicking off for millions of pounds.
And of course the squinty eyed, south african criminal back in town.

You have to think UEFA must be watching, they are a prime example of what UEFAs FFP rules were meant to stop.

The words "white elephant" come close to describing this shambles of a footie club. David Murray's previous description of the lead up to their financial collapse, over 12 years ago, gets much closer to the truth re their deluded aspirations in being "top dog" in Scotland while never being able to satisfy these demands financially i.e. impending liquidation was always in the background until it finally happened.

So a serious football finance question, lets not turn this into any mud raking as such. On the surface and from a football revenue perspective, there is little difference between Rangers and Celtic, both get good crowds, both are big brands that attract good commercial opportunities, both benefit from the same broadcast deals and both get Champions league football (albeit getting further can make a big difference). Desmond certainly has more money than King and has pumped a lot into Celtic but the club is far more self reliant than Rangers to start with.

I assume that when Rangers came back from liquidation all their debts were wiped out and certainly revenue dropped while they rose through the leagues but once they were back challenging Celtic they would have been on a somewhat level footing income wise, so why are they always in trouble? Is it down purely to bad financial management and overspending or is it something else?
