I think the kids did well. But there are just too many of them in the side at once.
Spencer looked great in the first half, bombimg forward. If only he'd taken the shot instead of pulling it back for Rhodes. Take the shot, let Jordan bury the rebound.
Jackson played well again and the late tackle on him was horrendous. How was that not a red?
Diarra showed flashes of the brilliance he's brought to the B team. That lad will be a great, but he's not quite ready yet. Neither is Camara, but he's been thrust in there and he's doing superbly, but has a tendency to waste possession at times.
Rudoni, another fantastic first half performance. Slightly off it in the second.
But then, the miss. Or was it a good save? Having watched the replay, I'd say the latter. But then when they had a similar chance in injury time, the lad buries it.
As for Pritchard. Why on earth are folk booing him? Alright, he didn't have the best of times with us, but for crying out loud. How many times have we seen it before? Pick on an opposition player like that and he scores against us EVERY TIME!!!!!

Another game that I've decided to sleep on and have a think about.
I thought Town deserved a point last night. We started off well and were on the front foot for the first 15minutes but we are toothless in front of goal. The game plan is obviously get it wide and get the ball into the box but we rarely have anybody there and with Rhodes and Holmes to aim for it's hardly the land of the giants and so the ball in has to be Beckham standard...and it isn't
After that spell the game seemed to drift into a midfield battle with neither side really dominating the game. Sunderland had a couple of chances down the left mainly thanks to Holmes failing to track back with his man but as a whole it just turned into a scrappy affair with little quality.
Losing Nakayama to injury was a real blow for us, but what must it say to Mbete and Boyle when he is replaced at half time by Diarra? Don't get me wrong Diarra did ok when he first came on but as soon as Sunderland went a goal in front Mowbray made subs and changed the formation which made it difficult for him to get through a packed midfield and as a consequence he faded out of the game.
So we're a goal down at home and what does he do, takes Rhodes off for a straight swap with Ward. Now at 0-0 I have no problem with that but we're a goal down at home and given we started with 5 defenders on the pitch and two holding midfielders(that's 8 defensive players including the keeper) we desperately need more attacking options on the pitch. I hoped when he fetched Mahoney on we might go for it a bit more but all he did was change players positions and stuck with the same formation. By this point he was struggling to change formation because of that Rhodes/Ward substitution. Even by the time Jackson went off we didn't see a change just a rejig of who was playing where in the same formation. He gave himself nowhere to go with his choice of subs.
How long do we have to wait before MF swallows his prides and recalls Hogg to the team?, Don't get me wrong Hogg's best days are well behind him but when you have a midfield of
Kasumu aged 23 only played 69 games in League 1 before this season
Camara, aged 19, Never played a professional game at any level until this season
Rudoni, aged 21, 91 games at League 1 level before this season
Jackson, aged 21, 19 League games in L1 & 2 before this season
We only have Holmes with any experience and he struggles to influence games when stuck out wide. We need Hogg back in the middle.

Another disappointing result....but at least the performance wasn't as bad as some of the others.
Thought Rudoni had his best game for us....was a real threat going forward but needs to work on his finishing.
Spencer had a really good game...but needs to work on his crossing.
Diarra looked good when he came on.
Camara looked good 1st half....crowded out in 2nd half.
Sunderland were no world beaters....but didn't need to be against us. They will struggle this season....but might stay up.
For us.....it is relegation unfortunately.

Exactly this, chatting to my mate in the second half and he said "when you look at this team in League One that'll pretty much be our starting XI, with maybe the exception of Danny Ward and Lee Nicholls"
Like your statement, he's bang on.

Mowbray said it was the worst they'd played all season.
And still they beat us 2-0.
We're gonna need to get Jacko n Taff back.
Hope Spencer keeps his place for Saturday. He and Sorba should make a good partnership.
Just need somebody in there to put those chances away. Can we recall Phillips? Or Hudlin?

Sadly, Snoots is so right about the crowd reaction to Pritchard. They might as well have said we'll put your name on the scoresheet now.
I know he wasn't popular with you, but he was part of a very unhappy team. That doesn't excuse him, but once you've grown to hate what you are doing it is hard to do it well ...... When a player develops that frame of mind, he tends to be a symptom of what's going on rather than the cause.
It is the fact that Pritchard plays looking forward from midfield, as Jon Russell does that made me say to Theo that would make a basis for a midfield. You desperately need goal power and your forwards lack it to an extent and aren't being helped by what comes forward to them. You have Camara who will be a star and Rudoni and Thomas are both players, but it isn't more defending in midfield that will win you games. You even passed Koroma onto Pompey instead of fixing that problem ...
And now two injuries ....... Nakayama looks a real loss.
Surely broken-down and unwanted Championship players can't be the answer? Otherwise, they wouldn't be on the shelf. If someone like Hogg is part of the answer, then common sense cries out for you to surround him with youth ... and that would be youth looking toward the opposition goal rather than their own.
I do hope things improve for you. I'm sure you need a change of focus. Look at the 0 you scored, rather than the 2 they managed.

We'd be top of the league if shots over the bar got you a point.

We'll do a swap with the Giants.
We have players who put kicks over the bar whilst they score trys beneath the posts
