Dynamo Kyiv are playing Fenerbahce tomorrow in the Europa League. Other than that they're now comfortably midtable in the league.

I saw on insta the other day that they'd had a meet n greet with the fans.

At last, a much-needed win for Chornomorets away to Mynai, courtesy of a 5th minute goal by Ilya Putrya to shoot up the table from bottom to ......er...... bottom. Unfortunately the 3 teams immediately above them all won, so they're still 3 points adrift.

the aforementioned Mr Putrya

Never mind, Monday's home game against Lviv gives them a chance to increase the pressure on the other relegation candidates. Club Motto - "forever hopeful"  Rolleyes

Chornomorets nice little run came to an end on Friday, losing 0-1 to Kryvbas KR. They had previously beaten Lviv 2-0 and drawn 0-0 with Metalist. Today they managed to throw away a 2-0 half-time lead to draw 2-2 against Rukh Vynnyky - sound familiar?

However they are now 2 points off the bottom, ahead of Lviv who have a game in hand, going into the winter break.

Shocked
I knew i picked a good team in Lviv. If it wasn't for them holding up the league, it'll collapse like a pack of cards. Angry

The Ukrainian Premier League football season ended today with FC Chornomorets Odesa finishing in a respectable 9th position after a 3-0 away victory over Metalist, scoring thrice in the last 15 minutes. A decent finish considering they were languishing at the foot of the table for most of the first half of the season.

The league was won by Shakhtar Donetsk by 5 points from Dnipro-1 in 2nd and Zorya Luhansk in 3rd, these two only being separated by 1 goal and on the same points. Chornomorets had an alternating loss/win sequence in the closing weeks, but it did include a win over Dinamo Kiev.

After bragging about my team reaching the dizzy heights of mid-table obscurity, I now realise that they finished just 4 points above the relegation places. That's the kind of team I like supporting - drama all the way!

Here is the final table so some of us can congratulate ourselves and others can think "What happened there?"
