Now we're going to Luton Town, Luton Town away

Don't forget officer Dribble in goals - wasn't he at Luton too once over?

Jacko.3-3

Unlucky Kasumu. Ref shudda blown for the first foul before he had to make that tackle.

Ah well. That was a great performance considering what had been previous. Point's a point.

Its a good point when you consider the comedy defending we put on show in the first half.

Mbete is nowhere near good enough to be near this team, Yuta has to start the next game.

Another one who has to start the next game given Kasamu is suspended is Jonny Hogg, but that will all depend on if his "injury" clears up between now and Sunday morning.

I thought it was quite end to end to be honest, with not a lot going on in midfield from either side.

What did worry me was the long ball up to the Luton forwards that time and again were laid off to an unmarked Luton player at the edge of the box, we just never dealt with it. If it happened once then it must've happened 7 or 8 times

Overall we looked decent going forward....but our defending is laughable.
A decent point overall....should have been 3 though if we could clear the long ball better than we did.

I can appreciate Mbete had a terrible game, but I'm betting he plays for better teams than Huddersfield throughout his career.

He is just 19 (last month). He has very, very little experience of very competitive football, like just two games.

He has been good enough to gain England age group caps from U-15 upwards, so a variety of old pros think he CAN play.

Leave him out, give him a bit of time to find his feet. Don't hang the kid, he's nnnnn nn nineteen!

You really think Pep is in the business of sending you a joke player? He's been sent to Huddersfield for you to look after and develop, not destroy! Do you really think all your backroom staff, having seen Luke Mbete in training etc. reached the decision that he does have the capacity for Championship football now by random select?

If I had anything to do with Man City I'd be very doubtful about sending you another young player. And really you are nice people and Huddersfield is close to my heart!

Give him a few games in the 2nd team and have remember what "if in doubt put/kick it out" means and learn better how to put an arm (and a leg if necessary) across somebody. Pep might not be happy if he's benched/dropped but given his teams have so much possession they don't have to defend that often, he's in need of getting back to basic training. See Kasumu - even if he overdid the "taking one for the team" bit, it stopped two late Luton attacks by the half-way line.

Man City are good at that too - they usually do it in the oppo's half and get fewer cards for it.

Just seems obvious to me Theo that he must have the ability necessary, but he needs to play against grown men who have learnt how to make a defender's life really difficult. He has to re-learn when it is safe and wise to do what. If you are one of the better players in age-group football, you get away with stuff that an old-pro will catch you out on. Give him some second team games, give him some bench time and bring him on if and when things are going better for your team. Play him in a cup game or two. Let him build his own confidence.

If he's your worst defender ever I reckon you haven't been paying proper attention. If he were already a made player in Pep's eyes, like Cole Palmer, he'd be staying at City. Mbete is in the process of being made. Do the job you've taken on. For a start if he's learned his trade at City he is used to winning and his team being on top - being dropped into a struggling team of seasoned pros has to be a culture shock. Second half of the season you might have a gem. You don't get a ready-made Colwill (who Chelsea could put in their back four now if they needed) every time you jam your sticky fingers in the lucky bag.

I'm not doubting he has ability, but either he was brushed aside too easily or the ball came at him so quickly he couldn't or didn't control it very well when he wasn't stood near anyone of their runners. Is it ball watching or something else. Fotheringham's not about to hang him out to dry if you listen to his comments.

Sorry, Devon. The lad's hopeless. Too easily shrugged off. No ball control. No positional sense.

Not all who get in at Man City are potential world beaters. Look at Donal McDermott.

I appreciate that he's still raw and that he's been sent here to learn his trade but in all my years watching Town I don't think I've seen a worse 47minutes of football from a Town player than I did last night.

1st goal, he's not tight to his man. player shapes one way comes back the other and Mbete is half way to Milton Keynes having fallen for the Old Elvis hip swing

2nd goal, he's in prime position to deal with it, he's in between the man and ball but he's as soft as shit, a slight nudge that he really should be stronger with and he's been done again. I'd expect any of us to deal with that.

3rd goal, once again the ball to comes to him..no danger, no pressure. He goes for it with his left foot, misses it and then shins it for the perfect assist off his right leg.

I know it won't please Pep and Co but he needs to go back to the B-team or a lower league than the Championship to learn his trade a bit more.

On a more positive note Sorba looked much better playing out on the right and for a change his set piece delivery was more like his old self

I remarked to Mitzi as well that at least we had scored 3 goals until she then pointed out that one was a Own goal and the other two from set pieces. scoring from open play is still a problem then.

MY team for Sunday

Nicholls

Helik, Lees, Yuta

Sorba, Hogg, Camara, Jackson

Holmes

Rhodes, Ward
