The bloke knew the score when he signed his lengthy contract. He'd obviously been tapped up in a similar way to the way Steve Cooper had been tapped up. The only thing Dean did wrong was not putting Carlos on gardening leave, like Swansea did with Cooper, so we could get compo for him.

As for Olympiakos. It's not the Premier League is it?

Two things,

1) You are right about the gardening leave, yet another mistake by Dean

2) If you think that's the only thing Dean has done wrong you need to look a bit harder. He took all the adulation when things went well and threw his teddy out of the cot when people began to question our "Premier League legacy"/Sale of the club/wanting his money back when it was Dean that sanctioned all this financial mess we find ourselves in.

Defeat on Saturday will see the tide of support turn against him

I agree. I do think Deano's got a lot of things wrong in his time at Town, most notably in the second season of the PL. I just don't think he should be blamed for this situation. Town legend Danny Schofield is getting a lot of stick now and it's been said that Dean has thrown him under the bus.

Well Danny was about to hand his notice in at the end of last season. Dean had to talk him round. One of the things he used to persuade him to stay was the promise that he'd be the next Town manager when Carlos eventually gets head hunted by a Premier League team.

How on earth was he to know that three weeks on from that conversation that Carlos would do the dirty? Probably would've been better taking Danny to one side and talking it through with him, like, the situation is we don't think you're ready yet and we're gonna bring Sam Allardyce in. Whistle

Trouble with Mr Hoyle is, he's a Town fan. Town fans are notorious for talking bollocks. Just look at social media. It's full of Town fans talking bollocks. He has to be a let his business brain rule his Town bollock brain every now and then.

Carlos created a team out of next to nothing, uncovered free talent and improved several players dramatically. He knew he was about to have players sold from underneath him - for FFS Forest were really offering bargain basement cash and it was still enough. To have continued the same level of success he would have had to succeed a second time with exactly the same trick - the money coming in was obviously not going to be spent on an influx of talent. Had he stayed all he could do was prove he could do the same thing twice, that it wasn't dumb luck. And it took two years first time, would you even have given him a second season if he'd finished fourteenth this round?

Olympiacos are a big deal. The club's following is huge. It has a massive membership in both Piraeus and Athens, one of the continent's biggest. Lovely place. nice climate. Win the Greek League and you have a CV that will take you all over Europe. Compare that with winning promotion at Huddersfield and facing the Premier League without sufficient investment. Despise him for taking a better job, but Carlos can't be blamed for the fact that Huddersfield is Huddersfield. The choice he had was looking like a rat, or staying and being prey to the patience or lack of it of the English footballing public and bosses not coming in strong on Trustpilot.

And that's exactly the line that Dean will peddle out, he's good at throwing the blame elsewhere. This has all the hallmarks of Jan Siewert(Martin from Wakefield) written all over it

Wagner walked at short notice- We appoint Siewert who was always our number one choice, hell we even tracked him for two years.
Appointed 2 weeks before the end of the transfer window and only given Jason bloody Puncheon to improve things rather than giving him some new players to try and improve things. Sleepwalking into relegation despite Deans total bollocks statement to say otherwise
Players didn't want to play for him

Corberan walks at short notice- We appoint Schofield who was always our number choice
Shopped in Poundland and Freebay to replace the Marks and Sparks players who departed for good money, looking like Danny has to settle with what he's already got. Sleepwalking into relegation once again.
Players don't want to play for him by the look of it.

I really hope I'm wrong but as of yet I've seen nothing positive this season. It's alright saying we've been better in the second half of games(some joker somewhere else pointed that out) but Burnley we were never in it, Brum were already 2 up and settled to protect the win and Preston sent Freddy Flintoff out at half time to declare.

People say it takes time to adjust, these are professional footballers being asked to play a slightly different system not learn the complex rules of Quidditch...asone plonker used to say...it's not rocket science

One final thing.

We finished third last season and yet Simms of Everton preferred a move to newly promoted Sunderland than us..that can't be right, I can only guess that the financials we offered were a packet of Space Raiders and some out of date cans of Carabao that nobody ever buys or drinks

I feel sorry for Danny. When Carlos left it should have said Danny would be in interim charge for the future, that would give us time to get the right replacement in, even if it took a month or so. Danny would have been the head guy in all but title, if we started well, he gets the job, he starts poorly like we have, he moves back into the ranks and a new guy comes in. As it stands he's started poorly and if he resigns or is sacked then ultimately he has to leave the club, maybe with some of the other coaches too, also requiring a pay off and we're back at pure square one.

As for Carlos I've heard a few things from players and a few lower level staff members at the club. Something tells me he is going to have a very stop, start career which will involve moving clubs very frequently. He achieved wonders last season, not sure if it was him, momentum or what, but it was never happening this season...

I feel like I should clarify this, Ive seen/heard three different opinions on the Carlos matter from players, one who did feature often for him and was involved on Tuesday was very upset that he was allowed to leave, I think it could be due to coaching methods, but maybe felt Carlos was his one and only chance of prem football, even though he's not good enough and maybe more. Another who also featured heavily for Carlos was actually happy he'd gone as the relationship between the two was strained. He was complaining to someone I know last summer about Carlos and his methods and never changed his opinion about him despite the success of last season. The third called him mad and said he's difficult at times.

The staff I know said hissy fits were fairly common place but they put it down to how he dealt with things
