Surprised at Alex Whittle being released as he's been consistent throughout the season. Nathan Tyson I presume will retire at 40 years of age. Joe Rowley will find another club either at this level or a division below. Joe Rowley would suit a team like Buxton or Boston United maybe even Altrincham.

Gavin Gunning I think may end up going to Fylde along with Akwasi Asante. Laurence Maguire will find another club if he leaves, wouldn't surprise me if a L2 club came in for him or another club in this division. Calvin Miller probably wants to move closer to home so could see him joining a Scottish team or moving to a club in the North East like Hartlepool or even Gateshead.

Personally I would have kept Laurence Maguire, Alex Whittle and Luke Croll. Very surprised we have offered a new deal to Tom Denton and guessing a few of the players offered new deals won't be on much money and probably be rotational players if they sign the new deals, wouldn't surprise me if they look at other offers from other clubs.

I also wouldn't rule out bids from other clubs coming in for players we've retained especially Khan, Tshimanga. Khan is good enough for a L2 club and Tshimanga well we all know how good he is and he's the type of player who could play in L1 and the Championship, so it wouldn't surprise me if a team came in for him around about £500k-£750k. Type of player Peterborough would be interested in.

My biggest worry is injury prone players. We've seen how physical the National League has been this season and the amount of long term injuries we have carried as a team but is that down to fitness, training, diet? Or is it that we've just been generally unlucky and not had the rub of the green.

3 key areas for me would be the goal keeping situation, strengthening the defence and finding some attacking midfielders with flair who can score goals very much like we had with O'Shea and Gary Roberts. There are a few good players in the League Of Ireland who could be good additions to the team and also in National League North/South. I hope we don't go after Football League players who are in their early to mid 30s looking for one last pay day like under Sheridan in this league. We need to be looking for hungry, young players who are good enough for this league and L2.

Akwasi Asante - We should keep him and get him fully fit all summer. Now, Fylde's mad chairman will buy him. Within two weeks!

Laurence Maguire - Transfer Listed. Mistake. We need his left foot, ability to pass out from the back, and to score from corners if we give him that chance.
Liam Mandeville - Too inconsistent. I'd have Transfer Listed him
Calvin Miller - Transfer Listed, play-offs showed his good side, but that's not enough, needs to depart
Manny Oyeleke - Reasonable, fills a gap, wouldn't argue stay or go.
Joe Quigley - Transfer List for me. Scored a nice goal at Solihull, but headed fresh air on a Solihull goal. I'd rather keep Asante any day.
Danny Rowe - Can we get him well again? If so he's a must keep.
Kabongo Tshimanga - Well, 24 goals, we need to get him back to his best and fight off any but the highest bid possible.
Tom Whelan - Keep him, play him and tell him not to act like a silly Public Schoolboy on field in future.
Tyrone Williams - Decent, wouldn't argue with keeping him.
Luke Croll - New Deal Offered, his only down side is a history of injuries.
Tom Denton - New Deal Offered, don't quite know why. We don't seem capable of using his height, and we don't believe he has feet, but he can play on the floor.
Jim Kellermann - New Deal Offered - I wouldn't have. Cookie must be a forgiving man. Transfer List for me.
Jak McCourt - New Deal Offered !!!!!!!! I wouldn't give him a deal in one of Dave Allen's casinos. Mutton dressed as mutton this la'.

Fraser Kerr - Released - he can play, but he hasn't done it for us much, so I can't argue.
Melvin Minter - Released, Northern Premier may call on him if he's lucky.
Stefan Payne - Released, never understood why we wanted him, or what he was good at.
Joe Rowley - Released, right decision, but he's wasted his talent. He's worked steadily backwards since dear old Bluepooch passed. Shame!

Alex Whittle - Released, saw it coming when benched for play-offs. Decent. We are keeping some players who aren't as good as him.

Apparently we are after Gyasi from King's Lynn/Dover. 21 pacey. Scores a few wouldn't argue with signing him.

I just read Boreham Wood have released Kane Smith. I would sign him and work how to fit him into the team later. Boreham Wood must have gone mental.

I'd go for Zico Asare, Oxford City, Mussa, contracted at Weymouth, Tavares at Wealdstone, Olomolowele released by Weymouth, Kane Dummond top scorer from out wide too for Warrington Rylands, Debra Halifax's centre back if Pete Wild doesn't grab him for Barrow, Maguire-Drew if Grimsby don't want to play him and I'd consider going back for Dieserunpronounceable too who looks a handful to me. I'd also be profiling EFL young reserve keepers, age 21/22, height 1.90 minimum, desperate for regular competitive experience and ready to listen. Stones from Guiseley might be a prospect for us too. That's a start.

We can't compete with Wrexham for big-money signings, so I don't want to look to the EFL too much. If we could interest a released player from the Championship or maybe Div One with a really nice wage packet, who could convince us he really wanted to play and re-build his career that might interest me. But with EFL players Matt is right, attitude is all-important, he'd have to convince us he really wanted to get stuck in.
