Oh dear. He hasn't done anywhere near enough to earn that. Doesn't exactly inspire faith in the vision of those running the show.

He was trying to make a purse out of a pigs ear with one arm tied behind his back.
This summer will be hard work. He will not be given a war chest to buy players and that's another thing that would make replacing him with a better manager almost impossible.
Not a huge fan of Bruce but happy to see him strip the squad down and rebuild - if he makes a success of it he knows he gets to play in the Premier League again and it is unlikely he'd get there via any other route - so he should be very motivated.
Not anything we can do anyway - so buckle up.
I see another American has bought Sheff Utd - if we were valued correctly that could have been us.

That’s just wonderful, the sort of news that will make my weekend. I despair

Springsteen
Willis
Forsyth
Lee
Or even
Grobbelaar
would all be preferable Bruces in my opinion.
Ha! Ha! I love it
Bruce from Finding Nemo, at least he’d add some bite

Hugely disappointed..... but I think we're left with so little options.
At least he may attract a few players attracted by his history as a player...?

We don't need a manager, we need a magician...
Our squad is desperately short of quality after several terrible windows.
We need 6 or 7 new additions and I thoroughly expect we have no cash.
We've got nothing in the way of players with resell value. Maybe we'd get 10% back of what we paid for Grady and Grant...
Maybe we'll sell Dike after he's played half a game. Give Lai his money back at least.
Is Bruce a magician?
Does he have the knowledge to pull 6 or 7 quality players out of thin air for free?
Ahmed Elmohamady still knocking around? (I joke, but he's probably still better than Furlong even now)
Well, from what I've seen of Bruce's career, his promotions have always come with teams who have the biggest budgets. His scouting network has been watching match of the day.
Since he's come he's been unable to identify his best side, chopping and changing every week.
We have no identity to our football.
Some of his decisions such as dropping Gardner-Hickman while playing the likes of Furlong and Reach have been appalling.
Am I surprised we're keeping him on? Absolutely not. After all, the club hasn't made a decent footballing decision for years.
We haven't even had a defensive midfielder at the club for 3 years. If the powers that be can't spot that, how are they going to identify a good manager?
Ron Gourlay is clearly as clueless as his predecessors.
Honestly think we'll struggle to get 20,000 at the games next year. If this is Gourlay's way of "connecting the club and fans" he's on another planet.
I hope Bruce proves me wrong, but I was hoping we employed someone who might be that magician we need... Some unknown quantity to give us hope... Someone that hasn't already failed the club...
Bruce couldn't get a Villa side promoted with Grealish, McGinn and the like. So what's he going to do when he's having to scout from unknown leagues?
I suspect we might well struggle to stay in the division.
But all in all, this problem has spanned several years and is much deeper than Bruce. Our scouting network has to be one of the worst on the planet.

Fantastic how Bruce tells players they must live closer to West Brom.
He is staying in Cheshire by the way.
He obviously doesn't see the point in moving.
