Well it is back to league business after a huge disappointment at Hampden - another Hampden match lost. Hopefully our newly appointed manager, Shaun Maloney, and his new coaching team, can change that trend as it is becoming a tad monotonous with lotsa Hibs fans travelling through to Hampden on a rotten, cold and grey day when winning that cup would've "lifted spirits" and add an element of positivity to Hibs and the way forward in the coming weeks. At least there is a significant financial gain for the club. Lets hope Shaun Maloney can use some Hibs money and use it wisely to strengthen this team. IMO I'd like a major overhaul with a good number of players moved on as proved yesterday they were not good enough v an understrength Celtic side that didn't play particularly well yesterday either, but they were still better than Hibs. Probably the wrong time to do it extensively at this time. So the next best thing is to try to strengthen key positions that have failed the team. Anyway, onward to AFC and we'll see if the players acquire a boost on the arrival of the new manager - picking up the 3 pts on Wednesday night would be great v a Dons' side that has picked up a few decent results in the past 3-4 weeks. It would lay down a "statement of intent" as they leapfrog above the Dons and take up the 6th place in the Scot Prem. I don't think it will happen with this disappointing Hibs defence. I hope they prove me wrong. C'mon Hibs!

A dogged 1-0 win with Porteous scoring from a corner. A welcome result in Maloney's first match in charge.

Good result guys but interested in your thoughts on Porteous’s escapade with the Dons lad whilst lying on the ground. Think the Compliance Officer will be paying a visit. Thoughts?

Surprisingly no comments from you guys regarding Porteous. Remember when Morelos should have been red carded at Easter Road but remained on the pitch to score the winner.?
Sound familiar ?❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️?

I'm happy to grasp the nettle. Porteous banned for 2 games for "violent conduct" against Ramirez, plus another game for having already been red-carded against Rangers. As IJ suggested, we obviously got away with one at the time. In my opinion he should be donating 3 weeks' wages to charity to show he's growing up.
GGTTH and a HNY to all.

The usual random "visitor" thriving in the negativity of a deserved retrospective red card for Porteous and a consequential element of negativity for Hibs FC!! Come on Ritchie and "smell the coffee" eh!! That incident was hugely disappointing to most Hibs fans and very little to talk about, other than waiting to find out the outcome (he wasn't gonna get away with that offence and most savvy observers knew that fact!!) plus most folk far too busy with other festive activities activities. We didn't need an outsider, a serial shit stirrer who thrives in Hibs woes whenever they arise (lotsa history there!!), to discuss or tell us about such negativity!! "Grasping the nettle" to appease said shit stirrer!!?? I couldn't emphasise it enough and well done everyone else for not responding at all!! Note the bigger issue/target is still the eventual radical reform of the Scottish refereeing system thereby improving it dramatically for the overall good of the game up here. And that objective has not changed one jot even after such events where there are perceived "winners and losers" (or similarities to previous ref misjudgements and player offences????) due to crap refereeing decisions that we have been discussing for a very long time and never go away!!
