A clean page ready for speculation - if we are to get promoted and stand any chance of staying up the this is a big window for VI and club.

I still would like to see Daryl Dike, but I think that gets more unlikely by the day as his value rises and more clubs become aware of him. At just 21 he already has that Grealish type ability to draw a foul.

Also lets not forget when they are saying we have no money or can't afford the wage bill, these 15 words (OK one hyphenated Smile): Pereira, Harper, Hegazy, Gibbs, Grosicki, Edwards, Austin, Peltier, Field, Lonergan,  Robson-Kanu, Clarke, Ivanovic, Diagne, Yokuslu.  I know we did not get paid for some of them, but the likes of Gibbs freed up a space and 60k a week from the wage bill.

Which makes our first team squad 9 players lighter, (10 if you count Sawyers) after bringing in: Reach, Mowatt, Clarke, Hugill, Molumby and Bryan.

Val must have agreed to spend nothing, so let's forget anyone other then a free/ loan.

Maybe they spent less to spend more in January when they'd know which players to replace - kick out to make a bid on promotion, and have players that would be ok in the Prem??

I'd love to think your right, but something tells me it's not gonna happen. I can't remember us buying big in a January in the championship ?

After the dross tonight, the only thing they will be "buying" is players ready for league 1.

I don't blame Val for our lack of quality players. he obviously came in to do a job with no funds.
The owner and board need to look at themselves.
We really need to go up this season as next season will be a lot more difficult with
Norwich / Burnley / Newcastle possibly joining the championship.
The yo yo days may well be over.

It's all very quiet, only Dike being mentioned. With a £10 million price tag that must be out of the question. Crystal Palace also after his signature. Will one player propel us into an automatic promotion place. IMHO nope.
