So you were right Matt. I suppose we'll never know how much justification there is for Mr Turner's statement on Boco's departure, but although we did offer the chance for him to extend his league career we did offer the least we could, the latest we could. It would be interesting to know when we started to wake up and offer him a proper contract.

I think in fairness to the player someone might mention how much better a team we were with him than without. On just a quick calculation, which could be wrong, I reckon he played 19 times for us, we won 10, drew 4, lost 5. I know some of them were cup games and slightly easier opponents, but then he did play against Huddersfield too. That level of form if converted into points for league games would have had us chasing automatic promotion.

We are going to miss him and despite the Fat Controller's bluster, he did a good job for us. I can't believe that if matters had been left entirely in Mr Cook's hands that Romauld Boco wouldn't be an under-contract Chesterfield player. His decision may have let Mr Cook down, but the club itself is left looking pretty disingenuous too. (Property development in Plymouth will hardly be easy to oversee from the sub-continent.)

We were so interested in him that on our website we listed him as a striker.

He's obviously not the easiest man. He's demanded his own release in the past.

By the way are they league games Matt? Because if they are I can't believe Plymouth. He seemed to be a permanently unused sub ....

No they aren't Matt. Was checking whilst you were answering ......

You've done league games for us, but he made 19 appearances in all. For Plymouth you've done appearances - he played 22 league games, 5 more as sub, the rest were various cups (usually subbing). Under Sheridan at Plymouth his win ratio was nowhere near as good as it was for us.

The strange thing is with nearly 50 international caps, even for Benin, you'd think he might be trying for better clubs with better players ...... French Ligue 2 for two games as a youngster, Sligo, Accrington, a loan at Burton, Shanghai unknowns, Chesterfield and now India where I don't think the facilities will impress him .... He's never been anywhere half-decent (even to get 2 games and be kicked out).

We do pretty urgently need 1 or 2 players.

I thought they were league games I copied and pasted from Wiki and it said the appearances and goals were in Domestic league. There is a rumour going around that Daniel Johnson is going to sign for us but I don't believe till it happens.

Yeah Wiki was the first place I looked too.

I'm still surprised Boko got as many games as he did for Plymouth. I only looked it up because he never seemed to be playing when I read their reports.

We have played well without Boco, though he was there for most of our good performances. He missed Sheff Utd, but then he also missed us getting hammered by Swindon at home I think ...

I find it strange that he didn't sign when he was offered a contract and opted to choose India. I know there Indian Premier League is getting off the ground and a few ex English players are going over there but still find it strange that he didn't want to sign a contract with a team who are 8th in L1 and might have a chance of playing Championship football next season.
