Been monitoring for news for days, committed to the Albion, hate modern football, if it wasn't for the baggies I would have no football interest at all. Haven't even watched all the England games, saw ninety minutes in both of the two big games, old enemy and the United States of Germany but only bits of the other two.

If we can get Miliano and Bryan on frees as well, that would be a great start, spend 5 - 6 mil on the untried guy from the Scouse and maybe the yank that was on loan at Barnsley, though 18 mil might be to rich for our blood, could be the makings of a team. We will lose our two stars so still need to work ard to have a complete squad.

This is the difference between Premier and Championship for me.

I actually am excited about the signings and what a new team might look like and do - when it was scrabbling for scraps to patch a team in the Premier League I just could not get excited as I knew it would never be good enough to compete

Agree stairs, hate the premier league with every sinew of my being, championship is a much better league, but in modern football you need money, greed league is the only place to get it.

Was really hoping the greedy six would have joined the European super league, been expelled from all UEFA and domestic competitions and allowed real fans, real clubs their game back.

Very happy with the Mowatt signing.

Initially I said it seemed like a good deal as he was captain of a Barnsley side who did really well last year, was the right age, seemed to be getting better, scored goals etc.

But my knowledge of his game was limited to what I'd seen of him vs us the year before last.

But after watching some clips of him, I've even happier. His pressing and turning over of possession is excellent, likes a tackle and can play as well. Looks like he will provide the legs that we really need to add to the middle of the park. If only we could sign Yokuslu on a loan to permanent based on promotion, they could be a great partnership. Still, assume the doors are closed on that one. But one can dream...

Not so overly enamoured with the Awoniyi link, because I thought he looked like a big lummox in the Union Berlin games I'd watched. Only seen him a handful of times, so hopefully I'm wrong, but he didn't look like he could play. We already have Zohore in that mould. I'd prefer Daryl Dike who was at Barnsley last season of the 2 linked. But we'll wait and see.

But Mowatt is definitely a good start to proceedings. A defensive midfielder, full backs and striker required.

I still hope we can acquire them with the funds from selling Johnstone and keep Pereira. But looks ominous on that front after the news of us trying to sell to China.

Oh, and more news: Meanwhile, former Mansfield boss Adam Murray, 39, has also left the Oakwell club to join the Baggies, as an assistant to head coach Ismael.

For a freebie you lads could have done a helluva lot worse with players in this division. With a bit of luck he'll be injured or suspended when we play you but I doubt he will be.
