Aberdeen FC v Hibs, Wed 12 May, KO 7.45pm

Well this is a match in which Hibs can finally secure our 3rd place in the Scot Prem. We can do it in two ways: 1. A jubilant Hibs team, after winning through to another Scot Cup final, carries on with the "feelgood factor" and beats a poor Dons' team that is no doubt gonna try seriously to upset Hibs progress as they have an outside chance of "pipping" Hibs for that 3rd placed spot.
2. Hibs take on the Dons with the sole purpose of ensuring they don't lose this match thereby rubber-stamping their best Scot Prem performance for many years.
I'll take either result and that would be our league business "done n dusted" in a vg footie season that has been surreal due to the COVID crisis. This is a case of how Jack Ross views this match and the best strategy to deploy in order to attain the right result. Also "fingers crossed" that all our players get past this penultimate Scot Prem fixture unscathed and rendering our final match v Celtic at ER Stadium as a "dead rubber". IMO that would be the perfect scenario.

FT and a 0-1 Hibs victory due to a well struck Doidgy goal - good to see him hitting the back of the net again although their goalie prob should've done better!!! AND THAT IS HIBS 3RD PLACED SCOT PREM POSITION "DONE N DUSTED"!!! Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up Now lets go on and win the "Holy Grail" as well!!! Smile
Hallberg unfortunately injured. I just hope it is a minor scare and he was quickly subbed to avoid any risk of any further damage. So that result renders the upcoming Celtic match at ER to be a "dead rubber". Hopefully Hibs can play this match as a testimonial "kickabout" as it is ironically Broony's last match for the Hoops as a Celtic player - play it with some commitment but close to being nothing more than a "bounce match". It has been a great night with Hibs scoring the requisite goal and then remaining defensively solid for the whole match, job done! McGregor replacing Porty and doing a fine job alongside Paul Hanlon. Newell also rested due to injury and Gogic doing his usual workmanlike performance. Well done!!

Job done and 3rd place secured. Stats prove that possession means nothing if you don't score and Hibs' 31% possession was enough. 8 shots with 4 on target was more prolific than usual. Looking good so far for more success.

Well done Hibs.

Did to them what they normally do to us............give up plenty of possession, resolute defending and then poach a goal.......great stuff.

Yup - it wasn't the prettiest of showings but we got the job done and in the end its a hugely important result. Aberdeen have gone seriously backwards btw. Their new management team are going to be up against it.

We are well on course for having a very good season indeed.
