Thats fair enough, and on many occasions plenty of that 'can' didn't do themselves justice. It's a tough market outhere especially in the January window when panic buying increases the value of the player.
Personally I'd like to see something along the following lines this month.
Out- Peltier,Gerrard,Gobern,Dixon,Paterson,Crooks,Sinnott and Carr.
The first five Just don't justify the wages they are on to warm our bench at best, the last three just aren't good enough.
In- at least 2 defenders, 1 winger and 1 forward.
Who do we buy? Lord only knows(not Sportsbabbles Lord Snooty by the way)
Big striker who has been mentioned for a loan was Sammon, failing that how about a cheeky loan bid for Glenn Murray or a bid for Jay Emanuel Thomas at Brizzle City
Midfield/winger- even tougher, I don't know much about the lower leagues these days and I've never heard of most of the young guns coming through at the big clubs let alone seen them.
Defence- 1 central defender, 1 right back to compete with Tommy Smith. Again no idea who though

i'm unsure about JET as a striker, I do like him, despite the fact that at times he looks half arsed in games. he strikes me as a player who plays in the hole behind the striker rather than being the big man.
people say that they want a big man to come in up top, I get why, but I also cant help but feeling we may be better suited to signing someone who maybe isnt as big, but has got the ability to run and beat defenders in a foot race etc, essentially a player with more than one string to his bow. similar to vaughan but obviously we wont find someone of that quality (unless we look abroad) but in the lower leagues there is that Smith at Swindon who played under powell, he looks a big lad but seems to have the ability with his feet. To be fair, personally I would like someone in the ilk of Novak, but with a little bit more talent. Basically I would prefer someone who would run their legs off for the side over a lump that just encourages defenders to go route one.
There is a case of looking into the lower leagues for players that are score Akinde at barnet is scoring goals, but before this season he has never been a success, so it would be a no from me
as for the other positions i have no idea!

Town always keep everything close to their chests, we never see anything close to something substantial until the day before or on the day of the transfer. Doubt this january will be the same. Think we might get someone in by friday but that's being optimistic. Think deano will be trying to ship as much of this deadwood as he can.

14th January and we've still signed anyone....I'm not surprised the club appear not to know its arse from its elbow of late.

with transfer bans handed out to 3 clubs we have to be wary of FFP, signing players doesnt bring you success , you have to sign the right players and its been a very quiet window with not too much big movement like in years past , fancy the club has to move a few on before bringing players in.
and what about giving some of the young lads the club raves about a few sub appearances

Yes. I was wondering what happened to the highly rated Jake Charles. Turns out he's been injured for five months. He scored two goals in the first eight minutes of his comeback on Tuesday.
I'd like to see him break into the squad this season.

Holmes,Carr,Billing,Sinnott,Crooks...blah,blah,blah. They all have proved a wonderful success at youth or u21 level. The problem is it's a massive step up for these young lads. I repeat again that since Jack Hunt we haven't had one loanee return that the club that have taken them has raved about.
