The team when they can all play will be interesting, is there room for Livers, Gibbs

I think the move to Southampton was more of an issue as Southampton are only 4 points behind Arsenal, you do not want to be helping out your competition for a European place by loaning them players.

Trying to be positive and these are good loans, but already I am worried for next season, whichever league we are in and for the same reason as usual.  We will have to entirely replace what will probably be our first choice midfield: Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Okay Yokuslu and Conor Gallagher.  Just imagine what the combined cost of those three would be, plus the other positions we need to fill.  This is our biggest problem we cannot build a team, as we are in a permanent state of crisis management and firefighting.

News seems to be coming out that Sam Field is going to QPR for the rest of the season with the option of a permanent move. If the latter is the case, I think it highlights even more SalopBaggie's concerns above. I genuinely believe Sam Field has talent but has never been given a serious run of games to show this - when I think of how many Sawyers has had then Field's opportunities pale into insignificance. I'm disappointed we have been shipping out our young talent and replacing them with loans and/or older players. I appreciate the primary goal is to avoid relegation but I feel we should also be thinking longer term. If this approach fails to stave off relegation and all the loans return to their clubs, as they will, then we will need a better plan in the Championship than a team of old farts and has beens.

I think the position AMN wants to and/or is willing to play is speculation. I wouldn't read too much into it.

It's more likely that he chose us because he is more likely to play or because Arsenal pushed him our way because we're not a rival. Southampton's right back - Kyle Walker-Peters - only has a very short term injury so AMN would not have been guaranteed to start there even if he was happy to play at right back.

If it is true and he does want to play in midfield, he's a better player than Livermore, Sawyers and Gallagher anyway. He can only improve us in any position, but I'd like to think he would replace Furlong.

Regarding next season's worries, I think they are very valid. Clearly we will be losing lots of players, not only loans but also those out of contract - Bartley, Ivanovic, Gibbs, Townsend, Robson-Kanu, Grosicki, Edwards and more. It will be a complete rebuild, Swansea style. Probably a case of selling a few (Johnstone and Pereira most probably) and using some of that cash to rebuild. There's potential for us to go into freefall if it's done badly. The only saving grace is that players like Ajayi, O'Shea, Grady, Grant are good at that level. The jury is out on some of the other youngsters - Field, Harper and Kipre - but they are out on loan to prove themselves. And presumably while they are loaned out with a view to a permanent deal, nothing is agreed yet. So we will have the potential to keep them - should we want to - if we go down.

I think it's probably a good thing they are out on loan and getting football. Because we're not too sure how they are progressing atm. Particularly Field who has been injured for most of the last year.

The window was a waste of time. We could have signed Man City’s first team and this manager would still find a way to relegate us.

I don't agree, because I think our manager stands a better chance of surviving than our signing MC 1st team.   Only my opinion of course.

I have been reading bits about Grosicki. He is coming across as a bit of a gold digger. In the summer it appears he left the decision so late with notts forest that he was the reason they missed the deadline. He was contacted by forest again this window, but did not reply. Others wanted him this window but he was not willing to take a drop in salary. £40k per week is his salary supposedly (how did he negotiate that!). So he is now wanting us to cancel and pay up his existing contract for 5 mths. Then he wants to go to Poland and be paid by them as well.
A lot taken from news stories and I have read between the lines, happy if people want to put me right if they know different.

Are ya sayin I’m a gold-digga baby.

That is one way of looking at it. Another way is it is the reason the club will never build a decent team, until they start planning ahead and bringing players in on real long term contracts. At present and for some time we have relied on bringing players in at the last minute in positions we are desperate to fill, so even mediocre players agents can demand top wage (for us) and get it. That in terms then means come the next window we don't have any money to bring in players on real contracts, a vicious circle.

Looks like Grosicki 12 months at the Albion coming to a close. Looking likely he will go home and sign for Legia Warsaw in Poland.
Looks likely Musa a free agent could take his place by all accounts he has been very impressive in training.

Has Musa trained today? As I've read we haven't the money to pay him what he wants, and 3/5 teams are watching.

Gibbs off to join Beckham at Inter Miami ?
May as well send him on his way now. Obviously he is just seeing out his contract.

Musa not coming after seeing him in training we report that we have better players for the position.
Also saying we have had no offers for Grosicki.
